guys i need help. im sorry if this is such a dumb question. im just new in this stuff. what will be the main difference or better choice if i do this ( pagename.mydomain.com or mydomain.com/pagename ) . What are the pros and cons? thank you so much in advance :D

mydomain.com/pagename is the better choice these days.
pagename.mydomain.com is basically a subdomain and website owners don't use subdomains that much these days unless they have a real good reason.

if you are looking to build a small site, then you have to prefer mydomain.com/pagename.
If you are looking to build a large site, then you can consider pagename.mydomain.com. But subdomain need more SEO effort for ranking in SERP.

Does doing a subdomain requires additional cost? I kept reading offers in godaddy but no offers there mentioned anything about subdomains. Thank you

I'm Also Looking for an answer is subdomains chargeable or free?

A sub domain has less wight in indexing with google .

In the old days, you could get indexed but that all over, since whois become public ...

The main domain ,then a folder name ,is much better ,and get indexed.

Sub domains still get used ,but usually pointing to pages the admin wants to get to for quick access , not used heavly these days for public websites.

There no reason you can not use a sub domains , there just not seen as safe buy visitors .

Classed as very unsafe and spammy

http://money.mywebsite.com

To this

http://www.mywebsite.com/money

As you can see there a huge diffrence and ppl do take notice of urls and the way they look.

Good luck

Google treat a sub-domain as a separate domain. Use a sub folder instead to avoid this, if this is not your plan

Question for those of who want to build PBN - would anyone know whether subdomains vs subdirectories would be better?
Option 1 - each subdomain would have its own 'niche' and have its own 'blog' ??
Option 2 - build subdirectories for each niche eg.. www.something.com/money/ etc....

any suggestions would be awesome.

Sub-domain is consider as the separate domain. If you would like to use it for the separate site then go for it. If you are just testing something then directory will work that us domain_name.com/directory will work.

Hosting provider has some charge for the sub-domain. SEO ranking will be different for the subdomain so if it's separate site then go for sub-domain instead of domain_name.com/directory.

definitely go with the subdomain. In fact 60% of top 5 competitive keyword search results, also make mobile.domain.com subdomains so that the mobile traffic has a site for itself instead of 2008 style responsive sites.

Just go with mydomain.com/pagename as they are much easier to rank in google. All the best.
