The stupefying degrees of ignorance, lack of education and just plain old stupidity evidenced in this thread by those who do not understand the workings of the oil business, such as who sets the price of crude; I refer of course to the much-loved-by-liberals; the oil producing nations of the Middle East and how that price is driven by WORLD-WIDE speculation, the degree of self-hatred on the part of otherwise seemingly normal Americans, tells me that I have to stay out of this thread, lest I tell you what I really think.

The self-loathing that SOME Americans profess is sad, indeed. But really, with the super-left wing NBC, ABC and CBS news programs feeding the US and the World steady diets of "what is wrong and corrupt with America" on a daily basis, what can we expect?
Truth is there is NO perfect government. Government is made up of individuals or collections of individuals who are imperfect, at best.
Don't you know it is the "hip" thing to do; slam America?
I got into a huge fight with some f^$#s on the Sindk*8 forum, because I grew sick of the "America Bashing" that was going on there. It wasn't pretty.
The reason was that true discourse was not allowed. If one tried to rebut or provide a different viewpoint, one was labeled as "Neocon" and idiot and so on.......
News Flash! When one person offers a viewpoint or opinion on a subject, then one should prepared for the opposite viewpoint. The viewpoints should consist of valid points, not nasty comments and so on......
And I will say it........I did react in a very nasty way to the very idea that 9/11 did not happen. I probably should have been a little more PC in my response to that absurd notion that 9/11 did not happen, but I did not. So, there is my imperfection. I won't apologize for it, at all.
So, I am aware of Americas and the rest of the world's faults and good points as well. Americans are good people who are the VERY most generous givers to those in need in the world. We have fought 2 World Wars that saved millions and lost over 291,000 Service Men and Women in the process in WW 2 alone.
How soon the rest of the world forgets...........everyone should watch "Saving Private Ryan" and then tell me that the US is a bad and evil country.
My grandfather lost his leg in France fighting the Nazis and my great-uncle NEVER was the same after fighting the Japanese in hell holes that we can not even begin to imagine the hell on earth that it was........
Infuriating to say the least when the US sacrifices are forgotten, not to mention the losses suffered by Canada, UK, Australia and so on.......they all made the ultimate sacrifice, in blood.
So, pardon me if I still love America. Forgive me if I still think of our country as a land of great opportunity (millions of Illegal Aliens try to come here every year). Try and look beyond my patriotism and love for fellow man (even those who have forgotten the sacrifices in blood that WE gave so that they could live without Nazi and Fascist Rule)............
Is America perfect, in one word, "no". But then again, are any of us or is any country perfect? No!!!
I am very glad to see that there is some balance here on BHW. That others are unafraid to voice their opinions, even if they are Conservative or Republican or just love their country.
