[STUDY] Using indexing services on orphaned pages

In this thread I will be running a small experiment on how effective certain indexers are at indexing orphaned pages. Orphaned pages are pages on a domain that have no internal or external links to them, so search engines would be unable to discover and crawl them naturally. For this experiment I will be creating contextual profiles on 5 small sites that are indexed in Google but have pretty poor third party metrics. I do not own these sites, and currently they allow anyone to sign up and create a profile.

Site 3rd party metrics:

So yeah, not great!

I've made 5 sets of 5 contextual profiles to test different services/techniques. I have no affiliation with any of the paid indexing services. These are as follows:

1) Speed-links - My go-to indexer for many years but as noted by many posts at BHW their indexing rates aren't what they used to be.

2) Thebestindexer - An indexer that looks to have been around for a year or so that I've read good things about.

3) Twitter - I've had indexing success in the past by tweeting the url of a page I want to index from an aged twitter account, and include a couple of trending hashtags in the message.

4) GSA indexer - I used to use this a long time ago to index web2.0s. Thought I'd dust it off and put it to the test. I will be using the 'full indexer mode' and 'use only sites that can index deep links' options.

5) Control set - I wont be doing anything with this set of profiles. Based on my quick research these shouldn't be accessible without knowing the direct url. If they index then I've fucked up somewhere!

The profiles all include 500+ words of text that is unique but basically spider food.

The profiles have all now been made and I'll leave them over the weekend to make sure they don't get deleted. Then on Monday I'll submit them to the indexers and start reporting on indexing status.

Sorry, just going with the simple orphan profiles at the moment.

Well the profiles lasted the weekend so now comes time to submit to the indexers!

Batch #1 - Speed Links - submitted


Batch #2 - TheBestIndexer - submitted

Batch #3 - Twitter - tweeted links with a couple of trending hashtags each, done manually with a few minutes gap between each tweet


Batch #4 - GSA SEO Indexer - submitter run and finished job


Batch #5 - control set
Done nothing!

So the links are hopefully on their way to being indexed. I'll report back in about 24 hrs to see if Google has indexed anything.

In most cases, it depends on the quality of your page, if the page quality is low, Google will not index them.

Going by the amount of copied, spun or just plain nonsense content I see getting indexed, there are certainly a number of factors that are taken into account.

Very interesting. It’s probably not the best time to do this experiment since google has been particularly strict when it comes to indexing recently. But it’s still interesting nonetheless.

So yeah, pretty much what I was expecting, nothing indexed yet. Next check will be in another 24 hrs.

given how many months it might take for some links to get indexed I don't think you should bother checking daily. I'd check once per week and post those results instead

The next update will be tomorrow, but yeah after that it'll be weekly, and I'll stop at the end of the year if they haven't indexed yet!

I'll probably try some other services and methods in another study

would be great for press release links if this works! Followed!

I blast 100 backlinks profile and web20 using GSA comments. After 1 month 53/100 got indexed. Checked the campaign it got 40k+ verified comments landed
