I am targetting a pretty easy keyword with ~6600 exact monthly searches & got it to page 2 for the main keyword using web2.0's+fiver scrapebox blast to them & manual high pr forum profiles.

The problem is that I have NO tools, nor the money to buy them. So I am doing some manual back links but NONE of them are getting indexed. In yahoo site explorer the links have been around 13-15 for about a month now with no changes & when G00gling link:domain no links show up although on webmasters tool it shows that the domain has backlinks.

What would you recommend I do in order to push a bit further to Page 1 considering I have no money to do it?

Apart from that I built a ~1000 word page targeting a high volume searched keyword - 40,000~ exact searches monthly, I am hoping to build backlinks & target this keyword as well in the future.

At the moment I get about 50 UV/day when I don't post a new blog post. I used to post everyday but slowed it down to once/week.

Yahoo site explorer is really shitty nowadays. Seems like yahoo isn't updating it as fast as they used to. But if the BL's show up in google webmaster tools, then google recognizes them and your site already benefits from them. I takes a while until you can see them with a link:domain query, google updates the BL's rarely. But that doesn't mean that they're not counting.
So it's all good, just go ahead and build more links.

I really would like to continue backlinking but it's really demotivating to do all the work & see no return. The website is not going up in SERPS, it's been dancing between 13-20 for the past 2 months or so. Do you know of any backlinking method that would give it that little edge to move on to page 1?

Have you been bookmarking? Even without tools, I would be bookmarking to sites like StumpleUpon, Digg, and Delicious for each post, web 2.0, forum profile.

I was bookmarking my posts through digg only, but I have never bookmarked the web2.0's & forum profiles. Would it make a difference if I were to do them altogether now? And should I use the same account?

i would use article submission and some manual blog commenting from high PR blogs...

How old is your site? can you take a market samurai competition analysis of your keyword?

All kinds of things you can do manually.

Bookmarks
Article Directories especially the big ones
Manual high quality blog comments in context, you can do these searches on Google to find them
Yahoo Answers open an account and build it up. Then you can drop your own links.
Setup a Facebook page...link to your site
Post on your personal Facebook page . post about your site and get all your friends to like it
Open a twitter account and post about your site
Make a video about your site and upload to a bunch of video sites

AND keep adding new content.

Site is 4-6 months old..I'm sorry I don't have market samurai, but on first page there is an EMD with no PR, not much backlinks & not much content. There's also a PR3 & a PR 4 page. My domain is an EMD with dashes between words.

I already ordered an AMR blast through fiver last month randomly linking to 5 web 2.0's & the money site varying the keywords.

From the List you mentioned here's what I already did:

  • Article Directories[Mainly linking web2.0s]
  • Facebook Page[How Do I get likes?]
  • Twitter account
  • Video uploaded to bunch of sites.

If you're using Wordpress there's a number of social bookmark plugins that now have the FB like buttons. Install one of those and you have the like buttons on your pages. Post about your content. Get your friends to the pages and liking them.

Your keyword is probably moderately competitive, I'd say your ranking pretty good with just a few web2.0s and article submissions.

You need to do more.

Just to give you an idea, here's what I do in 1 month for all my low-moderate competition keywords:

- 120 web 2.0 sites.
- 400 edu/gov links.
- 1.5K social bookmarks.
- 30K article directory submissions.
- 20K dripfeed comments.

If you can do this or outsource this, you'll break page 1 easy.

That's a lot of links, do you do these manually?

How high can you rank on the low competition sites with this mix. That's a pretty aggressive campaign. I've often managed first page with just a hundred good social bookmarks. What I'd love to know is how much to do to guarantee a 1st place ranking on the low competition sites. I know there's always going to be some that you just can't break for some reason.

#1 in 3 months for low competition and 3-9 months for moderate competition.

Nice post,

You can also get help from bookmarking, i have seen results coming from 250 to top 10 in a week.

;)

Ok so It seems that I need to come up with a backlink plan. Im going to test this strategy for 2 weeks & see how it goes. Here's what I'm going to do:

Week 1[Targeting Keyword1]:
Day 1: 10 interlinked Web2.0s with 1 spun post each & link to money site.
Day 2: 30 HIGH PR forum profiles.
Day 3: Make a new Post on the website
Day 4: Social Bookmark Web2.0s,forum profiles & post created above.

Week 2[Targeting Keyword2]:
Day 1: 10 interlinked Web2.0s with 1 spun post each & link to money site.
Day 2: 30 HIGH PR forum profiles.
Day 3: Make a new Post on the website
Day 4: Social Bookmark Web2.0s,forum profiles & post created above.

Note that I don't have much time at hand due to Work & school so I'm trying to squeeze this in some of my extra time. What do you think?

I would switch the forum profiles with article submission, profile links are hard to get crawled.

Submit your articles on these sites: http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/directories.php

Ok I'll switch the forum profiles with article directories. Do you think it's ok to post non human readable spun content to article directories & should I link directly to money site?

Unless I'm missing it somehow, I don't see much use of article directories in your gameplan. You can post to article directories en mass with a free software. You just have to find a free article submission tool and then make sure you collect your author rss feeds and post to rss directories.
