STRIPE veteran here - Let Me Drop Some Knowledge

Hello. Stripe shut me down due to high disputes in 2021.

I processed around $1,7m on the platform.

I refined my service offering (manual IG growth) which works great now. We don't have a dispute problem or any refunds really.

I am currently taking options like Zelle etc but I want a processor so I can reactivate my list of subscriptions from the past.

Any ideas for me to get back on stripe? I've tried applying to high risk gateways but my personal credit isn't all that great and they are declining me.

I am pretty frustrated but I am not giving up.

Question:
- When stripe bans you, what are they banning? Your name, SSN, or business name, etc? I have another LLC with EIN and business address etc that I haven't set up on stripe, but I'm worried about them flagging due to my personal information?

Thanks!

When Stripe bans you, it depends on what they detect - it’s not just your business name. They can flag any of the following:

-Your personal info (name, DOB, SSN if you're in the U.S.)

-Your IP/device fingerprint

-Linked email, phone, or domain

-Business details (LLC name, EIN, address)

If your previous account was banned, using the same personal identity or devices can trigger auto-flagging, even with a new LLC. Full separation - new entity, new rep, clean environment is the safest path.

How about the website? Do they ban the site too, assuming it's white hat?

Yes, the website itself can be flagged too, even if it's technically white hat. If it’s been linked to a banned account, especially with the same domain, metadata, or hosting setup, it can trigger risk signals. Stripe looks at domain reputation, past chargeback patterns, and even content if it’s borderline.

If you're reapplying, it's safest to use a fresh domain, updated content, and hosting that's not tied to the previous infra.

Been in the Stripe for more than 7 years and seen it all!
Currently crushing it with multiple accounts.

is the Hoodpay the only alternative to Stripe?

Hoodpay is just one of many - it's decent for some setups, but definitely not the only alternative. Depends on your niche, volume, and how clean your flow is.

There are a bunch of other options: EU-based MIDs, EMI+gateway combos, crypto-to-fiat bridges with card rails, even stealth Stripe with proper front. The key isn’t just the processor - it’s how you present your business to them.

that's great. can you tell me the names of some platforms that are alternatives to Stripe and also which I don't need to verify accounts uploading my documents and ID card?

If you don't want to submit your docs, the only solution is using nominees. Any platform will always require you to kyc.

I got banned from Stripe. After that everytime I try to register I get constantly banned. I explained to Stripe admins by phone call, telling that my new business is low risk and is registered as a comercial company officially in my country, and I pay tax to the government but they keep saying they cannot give me opportunity to let me open a new account anymore.

That's why I need an alternative to stripe. I only use Paypal currently but I need at least another payment processor that let me setup their payment system in my online shop.

This is a different story. Anyways, in which niche are you? Maybe you business is not considered "low-risk".

if Stripe keeps banning you, they may have flagged you at a deeper level (shared address, domain, IP, etc.). You might need to change more than just your business name to pass their risk filters.

Basically stripe doesnt check the referral URLs where the payments are coming from, they will be checking the primary website whom you have registered your account with, they might be checking that only when you start having alot of dispuites and they will review the account but im my experience once you dont have many dispuite rates you are good to go ,
You are right and wrong at the same time, stripe do check refferals and base on disputes.

If either your customer open a disputes with screenshot regarding the thing you sell is not align with the fake website.

And also If you hit certain spikes on your sell they will do a manual check on your site etc.

I’ve seen accounts nuked not because of what you sell, but how you funnel traffic or mismatch the front page vs checkout. Doesn’t matter if you registered a clean domain if your flow looks shady, their risk team steps in.

I have been running an SMM business using PayPal the last 10 years without problems. Planning on trying out Stripe as well soon. How likely am I to get banned considering I have had no problem with PP? Everything is legit, company info etc.. running in a EU country.

If you dont cloak well or go high amounts in a hort time you will most likely banned.

How can you accurately assess their actions? Have you ever encountered one personally, or worked within a team alongside one, or is this merely based on assumptions?

based both on direct experience and on working closely with collegues who dealt with the same challenges

Well that's weird, I been doing it for more than 3 years, even redirect from multiple different sides, the only thing I know is if the customer issue a disputes with your sells that's different from what your white site offers.

Sometimes it’s not about doing anything “wrong” just looking atypical enough for the risk team to step in
