Streaming count on Tidal

Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right section to post on, otherwise I ask the moderators to move it.

One of my sources of income comes from streaming on platforms such as Spotify, Tidal, etc. but I've noticed on the report I get from the distribution platform I am using, that Tidal isn't counting most of the streaming (while Spotify count each of them, for example). I mean, they practically don't count 99% of the streams.

Is anyone experiencing something similar or have any idea of why this happen?

Some added info: my songs are little less than a minute long per average and I play them with zero volume (I wonder if this may be the reason, but again, other platforms they count each streaming even if the song is played at zero volume).

I am sure it has to be moved to the social media section - anyways, tidal is not the best distribution platform to make your royalties on - do you get enough plays to even care?

Are your streams organically done or do you use any kind of bot like aiostream to enhance them?

Why do you say that? I think Tidal is one of the streaming platform that pay the highest royalties. I do not get enough play because apparently they don't count it.

Some I think are organic, as I have more thank 200 listeners spread all over the world, according to Spotify (so I guess in Tidal would be similar, but they don't provide this kind of information). But I also enhance my streams.

I've just read some articles from 2018 that said Tidal is running out of money and it's struggling to keep up with royalty payments. I guess that may be the reason.

can I ask what do you use, and what is your method to enhance the streams? I have tested a nulled version of aiostream with no luck.

IIRC Tidal calculates revenue to send out in a different way.

I am so much in this topic. I am about to drop my official single but I am still working on promotion strategy. If anyone has a working formula I will so much appreciate if you share. Most especially on streaming platforms

If you want to grow your music the organic way, would be hard and takes a lot of time. Some people to boost plays use bots. And about tidal, took them more then 9 months to release royalties, and the numbers are not straight

I want to focus more on Spotify and youtube for now. I don't really want the little resources I have to every platform out there that's why I want to focus on 3 or 4 platforms for now. I don't know if that's a good decision. What do you think?

Its up to you, what is your goal? If its for making money, have to focus on streams and videos. Will need a lot of resources for that. To make it on spotify popular playlists you will need a push for sure. Like i said, what are you really after, the money or real, organic listeners?

Spotify is not the best in paying royalties, but they pay them every month. Tidal is kind of late on paying them , and you cant really get accurate number on your streams. Also Deezer and other services are little bit behind on monthly payments when you compare them to spotify.

I agree fully with those statements, in terms of payments you can only count on Spotify. It's most accurate and pays on time.

It's not about the rate of Tidal itself but about the frequency of payments. There is already april and payments for october should have been made. However, tidal is still back with payments for july...

Alleged discrepancies between TIDAL's declared subscriber base and its claims of high streaming numbers for its exclusive albums have come under scrutiny. After Kanye West released The Life Of Pablo in February 2016, TIDAL claimed the album had been streamed 250 million times in 10 days.

So i would guess they pay their own people, the others are on the waiting list
