Strange 301 question- Has everyone confused

My money site has about 3k backlinks laptop Niche. I found a website for sale that has 300k backlinks attched to it for sale (TV Niche) and it has nothing todo with my money site. If I buy it and do a 301 redir would that help my money site or send it in a dif direction?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out with this. Ive been researching it all day with no proven acceptable answer
