Stop WHINING about the Google Updates!

In most cases, it is possible for the bot to identify whether or not the keyword is relevant to the page. For instance, and article about "weight loss" as the primary keyword would generally have other related keywords like fat loss, diet, jogging or workouts, and not keywords like payday loans, forex bot, etc.

The thing with articles you get your back-links from is pretty bad. So you should get links from related pages that is readable and grammatically correct. I am not sure are even super spun articles good. A site, i made link to using my own super-spun article lost rankings too.

But even if a article is perfectly spun and ok, probably there still would be problems. I am not sure why, probably because google can recognize spun content in some extent, but also i am not sure can it properly see if the links is relevant to the page. For example if i have site about cars and i use anchor new BMW would it get my site penalized. The real text about bmw would probably do better in THIS V. of Google. But this is BS. I mean most sites use just related article for backlinks but they still lost their rankings.

don't use google analitics/webmaster.... my sites are fine.

LOL exactly. One of the reasons HPBL got hit was because weight loss post had auto loan keywords etc. No worth it IMO.

Adapt or die - Just see the number of people on this thread alone who are talking about lost rankings = which means same number of people happy about gain in rankings = which means you are a viewer and have to study more.

Provide more value to customers rather than search engines

Ya, you idiots shouldn't be pissed that a monopoly can own and destroy all the work you have done with a simple algo change! All you jackasses that just got wiped out in one swoop just suck it up, work hard at what you think they want and keep going through there random ups and downs! Suck it up, add value, test test test and suck off google and all will be golden. Most people suck in IM because they think they can achieve a passive income stream. But nothing changes more often then the internet!

Passive income is a myth, you have to work hard every day like in a real business.

Also people seem to think google 'owes' them something?
At the end of the day Google is trying to give users the best user experience possible, this means constantly modifying their search algorythm to get rid of non-relvavnt or spammy results so if your site falls in to that category you can't complain, just move on, test and build.

It would be nice if service providers here would catch up with the times. I stopped using a lot of services here because many are still stuck in pre-panda and early panda mode.

Just look and see how many services only allow 1 or 2 keywords for anchors. Spun content is another issue. People are using such horrible spins. I've been saying for a while that people need to start super spinning articles because the hammer is coming. Even wrote a thread on it in the JrVip section on how to do it.

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome and if that doesn't work just blow shit up.

good advice..but when i see on first page 2 sites with poor content and 5 web20 with spun content it s really hard to say what s working those days

What you see today is irrelevant. They always make adjustments and fix those issues.

I remember when meta keywords and anchor text dominated the top spots. Things change.. adapt, and keep pumping out quality content.

The moral of the story is, no matter what strategy you use for ranking in SEO, it doesn't last forever.

I don't get why everyone is crying.

If you build quality sites geared towards helping your visitors and not just pushing a product, you'll be fine.

If you develop OTHER streams of income rather than relying solely on google, you'll be fine.

It's not rocket science. Build something of actual use and quality and you shall be rewarded.

Don't make a site, the sites that I didn't make are fine.

While I certainly understand, and agree with, the 'shut up, move on' sentiment (anyone who got dinged badly should), there's a lot of people that either didn't get the memo of what's going on or are deluding themselves. Thousands and thousands of perfectly white hat sites got hit - it's not just about backlinks, spammy or otherwise; it's net effect is not about quality content rising to "where it should be" (even though there are instances of this).

Tens of thousands of sites appear to have gotten rammed for spammy backlinks, yes, but the logic Google is employing is this: You/your brother/ur granny/the guy you pissed off last week built spammy backlinks to your site; therefore, your website is - ipso facto - low quality and we will no longer be displaying it in Search. <--and this is not only fecking retarded, but indicative of exactly where Google is going. Ergo, search results across all major verticals are bringing forward garbage to the top 20 that was, for a very good reason, ranked #427 (whatever) prior to the update.

Google is at war with off-site SEO. Nearly ALL off-site SEO. Google is also at war with those who suck the Google teet to make free money. You are being monetized - slowly.

If your site didn't suffer, I'm happy for you - I am. If your site came from the boonies to pages 1-3 I'm even happy for you, too. That being said, if you think for a second that you did something right instead of someone else doing something 'wrong' (or more 'wrong' than you), you don't understand this update, its implications, or the first thing about what to do next; and, you'll not long enjoy your new position given the gaping holes this update has left open for momentrary exploitation.

Stop relying on organic search to make money. You'll end up blowing your head off.

People think that SEO is dying, or that this is Google's fault.

Wake up people, SEO has been supposedly dying for the last five years. But alas, its still here and in a very strong way.

We get it, Google gets it, the latest Panda refresh is a joke. No one is going to deny that. What does that mean for us? Hold on. Quit making drastic decisions. Let Google sort things out a bit, because they WILL be redoing their new refresh. Freaking out, canceling services, and 301'ng domains is foolish.

You're absolutely right. However, its no different than any other update that has happened for the people that "only were white hat". Hell, it was probably the previous update that probably got them to where they were if they truly were not doing anything. You're right about the Negative SEO aspect, but what I am mostly referring to is people who are bitching about the over optimization penalty.
