I wanted to wait until I got a few of my domains back to tell my story. I will not mention the domains that I had there, but they were non Blackhat websites, nothing controversial or illegal.

I woke up one morning in 2021 with one of my domains disabled. I was unable to get the transfer code or anything for it. It was simply disabled and gone. I had to provide an alternative link to the people that were visiting my site, and it was a pain to have to get everyone back and to rebuild the SEO for the domain, but we're back on track now.

When I contacted support, I was told to transfer all of my domains out and I was never told why. I brought up that I was within the 60 day transfer lock and then they took all of the domains on my account. When I asked for transfer codes, I was never given any. I went to Tucows compliance, which was equally useless in the matter and gave me the runaround. I asked around and see if there was anyone that knew Sunde directly, I found someone that was willing to help and I was able to get one of my domains back. At the point, I was willing to let the rest of the domains expire. Njalla support is some of the worst support I have ever dealt with.

This is also around the time that Sunde was applying for ICANN accreditation, which he was rightfully denied. Ever since then, I have been seeing an uptick of domains being outright stolen, just like mines. Remember that you don't have ownership of your domains. In their contract, it says that they technically have ownership of your domains and can do whatever they want with them. You retain full control, but they can take that control away from you at any time and it states in their Terms of Service that they can keep it, or just let it expire. Tucows doesn't seem to have a problem with this at all.

Remember that Sarek is also a Sunde brand as well, and they used this registrar to hold certain domain extensions. Overall, they're a very shady company with shody support and bad business practices. Be aware that if they do take your domains, you're very unlikely to get them back. They're not a domain registrar, and you're better off going with any other registrar.

I personally would recommend NiceNic and Subreg.cz/Gransy as I never had any problems with either one of these registrars.

STOP recommending Njalla.

They are ideological driven thieves with unprofessional support that will take your domains for no reason at all. The "privacy" that Njalla provides just isn't worth the trouble in most cases. They shouldn't be in business and Sunde should be ashamed of what Njalla has become.

Why you did not go with more trusted options like namecheap.
Njalla lets you pay with Monero so the money can't be traced back to you. They basically act as an intermediary. But I also heard some bad things about them, so I don't think they are the best "privacy" option out there.

@mzrs Good that you shared this here. Now people will become aware of this and will think twice before buying from them.

This is not new, they stole a domain name of mine as well, and many others shared their stories about that here, but it was in a blackhat niche, you said your domain & business is legit, so why the heck did you register with them ?

Even namecheap also allows paying by crypto. I have not payed with monero there though.

They offered crypto options that no other place offered at the time, so I chose them over other options as I had crypto that I wanted to use.

Njal.la isn't a scam, they just don't like blackhat activity.

Many clients have domains with them and they have no issues so far. Be sure that you respect their ToS and AUP before being suspended or using them.

We accept Monero, but our rules are very clear and must be respected. Anyone is welcome but if you don't respect any ToS from Njal.la they can kick you.
Don't forger Njal.la resells from Tucows also, ccTLD is much better option. Maybe you did something wrong against their policies?

That is only our vision and point. Hope everything gets ok soon :)

Namecheap is not offshore. Remember IS NOT because you can by crypto that is offshore.

i do not recommend namecheap nor njala in any discussion i encounter on this forum. namecheap will "steal" your domains just as fast. i ditched namecheap years ago when they decided to get into american politics. and have since seen many friends and strangers on here lose their domains.
my registrar recommendation is always namesilo. free whois and one of the cheapest in fees. porkbun domains is one who comes close price-wise, but don't know much about them to have an opinion.

I'm not really calling them a scam, but they're sketchy as hell and have poor support. Any service that can seize your domains without recourse is not a service to be trusted.

Tucows has equally become a terrible service as well if they allow resellers to do this. I wasn't told what I did wrong. I was told "you know what you did" in cryptic messaging and told to transfer my domains out. When I said I couldn't, they took them all from me.

They're a terrible service and I highly recommend going with any other options where you can retain ownership of you domain.

Thanks for the heads up. But never even heard of that registrar before.

now I search on porkbun for domain idea, see a .com domain is available...not buy it now,.....

check it 5 minutes later!
Taken ! Now it costs $900 , on Bigrock too on their aftermarket!

Only 5 minutes later!
Thiefs....

Better use an inkognito browser if that helps prevent stealing your domain idea?

Namecheap is shit. They are taking down your domain if a random kid says he was offended by a word you put on the domain.

Good ones are Namesilo and Netim and probably the registar blackhatworld.com uses.

What?? WTF???
namecheap does shut down so easy the domain I use and bought from them?

Does Porkbun do the same?
When yes I must wait 60 days then I transfer them to namesilo or offshore registrar when that make sense?

The web becomes a crime plague today...

Yeah, namecheap is bad now. It was good before but now they are blocking domains left and right.

Porkhun isn't as good as Namesilo or Netim. They won't shut you down so easily.
