Hello,

I’ve been actively working in the CPA marketing industry for nearly 10 years.
Like many of you, I’ve spent years chasing offers across networks, debating payout rates, and joining endless discussions about “which network shaves less.”

But to be honest, the system has changed.

CPA networks, whether dating, sweepstakes, or nutra, are a great starting point.
They offer variety, room to learn, and space to test ideas. But after a while, you hit a ceiling.

Most SOI/DOI offers still sit in the $3–$5 payout range.
Yet when you analyze the real value of that conversion, you realize the network is making around $10–$15 per lead.

So where’s the difference?
Commissions, tax gaps, operational costs, and of course, shaving.
In short: the traffic is yours, the idea is yours, but someone else makes the real money.

As of 2025, thanks to AI tools, we can now create high-converting content, local language variations, and even automated A/B tests with just a few clicks.

This doesn’t mean human effort no longer matters.
Quite the opposite — it means strategy is what makes the difference now.

In other words: the right traffic + the right funnel + the right monetization = full control in your hands.

At some point, I realized I was constantly working for someone else’s system. I asked myself, “Why not build my own product?”
So I spent a month building my own dating site, setting up a CRM backend, and redirecting my affiliate traffic to my own landing page.

The result? I earned 3–4 times more from the same traffic.
The same conversions, but now, all the value stays with me.

Of course, everyone’s market conditions are different, but here’s my take:
Moving your earnings from a network-controlled system to your own model creates a huge difference in profitability.
With the right setup, you can increase your margins by 300–400%.

We used to ask,
“Which network pays the most?”
Now the real question is: “How much does my own funnel make?”

If you’re still sending all your traffic to third-party CPA networks, maybe it’s time to take a step back and think.
The traffic is yours, the conversions are yours, but the revenue belongs to someone else.

My view is clear: if you’re still relying solely on networks in 2025, you’re not really building your own business for the long run.

- But I’m curious, what do you think?

- Have you ever tried building your own product or service?

Or do you prefer the ready-made traffic and easy-money structure that networks provide?

Thank you, Regards.
Comments will be appreciated.

Great text, we all know most CPA companies are eating a good part of our hardwork

True.

Starting out with CPA networks is an excellent way to understand the system and gain experience without requiring a large initial investment.
However, later on, to eliminate all those commissions, we should create our own product and move away from these networks.

Thank you.

Building a product isn't particularly easy. It's easier to get paid upfront that to handle both the traffic acquisition side, the conversion and the delivery part.

Yes that is a good way because most cpa networks shave the conversions/clicks and you have no control

It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible either. We have to improve ourselves.

Idk, but I get the feeling that lately all is shifting and that if we want to survive in this IM landscape, idk, we will need to transform, unite, idk what to call it. We see changes in every field, whether SEO, Reddit, Facebook, X, Pinterest, everything is drastically getting lower quality, lower PPC traffic, lower conversions, and we should really think about it if we are ready to give to somebody else our hard work, traffic or audience.

Networks are good for starting out, but they limit your earnings. Most offers are low-paying, leaving the bottom line to the bottom line. Content and testing are now easier thanks to AI, but strategy is crucial: the right traffic, sales funnel, and monetization.

Yeah bro, 100% agree. But tbh, most marketers are just too lazy to build their own stuff. It’s way easier to just drive traffic, grab the commissions, and call it a day as long as ROI stays green

100% agree, and something else, the traffic is not always yours, many marketers won't add a capture page because it reduces CR by adding extra steps on LP, also, some advertisers won't approve your LP if you capture emails, and they end up with the leads to which they market over & over again, when you own the full funnel, you don't just make x3-x4 what you used to, you can also retarget & remarket to the same leads.

Well, I must say I like your perspective on this. But just like you said, you’ve been doing this for 10 years haha... you already have all the experience and it would probably be easy for you if you decide to take that path.

And yeah, it’s something everyone should keep at the back of their mind in the long run. It’s actually a great idea if not the best but it won’t work for beginners : )

AI has truly advanced.
In the past, even creating a simple one-page website used to take us days, and sometimes we didn’t even fully understand what we were doing.

Today, my ten years of experience have become equivalent to the level of someone who has worked with determination for a year.

This is absolutely true mate. NGL, I’ve been able to explore a whole lot of different things with AI that I’d never have dared to try before.

Haha, even funny that I was just talking about this with my buddy yesterday... joking about how much one can literally do with just ChatGPT nowadays

It’s amazing to think about. Technology really is a beautiful thing when you take a moment to see how far we’ve come : )

Yeah, that’s 100% true. These days you can just find a funnel that’s proven to work for someone, throw it into Perplexity to make something similar (or straight-up clone it ), then I usually fine-tune or optimize the code with Claude and boom, the funnel’s ready in like 30 minutes.

Before AI, I used to waste hours messing around with clunky WP page builders and all that nonsense. So yeah, you’re totally on point with that one.

So I spent a month building my own dating site
Yeah, not everyone can do that. Besides, if your dating site is not delivering what you're advertising, you'll be hit with a wave of chargebacks.
Most new dating websites don't even have a premium plan until they reach a reasonable number of active users.

Affiliate marketing/CPA is still one of the best ways of making money, you're making money without the worry of tech and related costs.

I’m actually earning well, but the world is changing. I’m planning to enter the food industry and currently researching an Asian cuisine.

Nowadays, water, energy, and food will be among the best ventures. Maybe I’ll turn toward agriculture. There are many Dutch companies that are highly skilled in this field, and I’m thinking of directing investments there.

I definitely have clients making five figures a month with CPA. In fact, when you focus on building an audience rather than chasing temporary traffic, anyone with good channels on open platforms like Telegram can do all kinds of affiliate marketing. There are many options besides adult content.

If you have the resources to negotiate deals with the advertisers directly or develop your own products to sell, then you can try to be more effective, but for some people the return they get from CPA networks is pretty strong and it doesn't make too much sense for them to switch the way they work, even if the CPA network is making more money than they are form their leads.

I’m with you on the general idea, but it’s very “it depends.”
Owning the funnel prints more when it works… but you inherit the headaches too (tech, compliance, support, refunds, fraud, payment ops).

What’s worked for me is a hybrid: keep the easy CPA money for cashflow, and in parallel spin up a tiny MVP offer in the same niche. Start by collecting your own emails on prelanders, test a simple paid upsell, then negotiate a direct deal on the geo/angle that converts best. If it beats CPA on EPC, scale it. If not, no harm done.

Bottom line: build assets, but don’t toss what’s already profitable. Test your way out of networks instead of ripping the bandaid in one go.
