Recently, a big scam happened here where members lost like $10000 each. One more thread I read today, where the member lost about $10000 in AdSense payment related scam. Can there be additional protection for such deals here? Or any other solution?

Like in any other marketplace, the only real protection you have is not paying all upfront but using milestones.

Moreover, the typical things to be considered, like track record and all that, but still this is not a 100% bullet-proof method to analyze anything (and you could still be scammed unfortunately). In fact 4 or 5 years ago, before I set up my 2FA in my account, it was hacked, and someone on my behalf sent a ton of private messages offering a service that was obviously a scam. Luckily I reported it fast to mods and AFAIK only one guy was affected with around $100 losses. Like the classic Twitter fake Elon Musk we all know.

And then the classic elements you must consider:

This can be made compulsory to be mentioned in OP of BST for services in price range of $1000-10000 or more.

Staff are working on a escrow-esque feature in Marketplace 2.0:

"The buyer can purchase escrow-style protection if the seller offers it" as per DD

Human nature will prevail and somehow someone will still get scammed and blame bhw.

It's crazy the rates of scamming recently. And most times from big time members with excellent reputations. I've lost money here from someone who shines like a new car. Yet he didn't deliver and didn't care. He just wanted me to forgo my money after he couldn't delive lr whay wa sagreed. He's still selling with a high reputation, while I lost my goddamn money and my plan to make more as I abandoned the project because of the sneaky fellow.

The escrow system will really really help.

Why you did not open a shitlist yet?

Here's a quote from the exact post:
Thanks for your suggestion - It's coming in MP2, in fact, has already been written.
The buyer can purchase escrow-style protection if the seller offers it. If the seller doesn't offer it and it's a requirement of the buyer then we will be able to offer similar sellers with this level of protection through the search functionality.
Customer feedback is built into the marketplace ensuring engagement between the 2 sides is always open and clear.
All feedback is taken seriously at the moment via the ShitList but we take this to the next level with MP2.

From what I can see in regards to the number of pending, resolved, and rejected disputes; the rate of scamming has not dramatically increased.

If you've been scammed by a member here, you should open up a dispute thread here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/dispute-resolution.31/
