I just bought 2 YT accounts from 2007, (both with videos and subscribers) that I want to use for a couple new projects I'm working on. But I'm not sure what the best steps are moving forward to 1) not get them banned/flagged and 2) monetize them....

I just logged into one using the recovery email provided upon purchase and everything is fine. I changed the recovery email to one of my yahoo emails, but not sure if I need to do anything else there. Can I change the "contact email" and "alternative email" to other gmail addresses I use?

The original account owner has videos related to MMA and I want to use the channel for a health/wellness channel, how soon can I start making changes like updating the cover art, etc. I know people say to "warm them up", just not sure how long I should do that for.

Another question I have is, how do I go about monetizing it? In the settings it says it's eligible for monetization, but how would that work if the account is technically under a name that's different than mine?

Any advice or suggestions would be welcomed...Thanks!

p.s. Not sure if this is the right forum, but it's video related so I thought it was. If mods need to move it, then go right ahead

I have a strategy for the channel and the website it will be associated with, but I am a little unclear on the technical steps needed to properly get it to a "safe" account...

You won't manage to monetize this account, I know in the setting it say " Eligible for monetization" but once you click on the button " Enable" youtube will ask you to provide to your channel 4000 hours watchtime and 1000 subscribers . When you fulfil these requirments, you need to link an adsense account to your channel. You must create an adsense account with your name and your phone number, I think it doesnt matter if its not match the name on the youtube channel , anyway you can change the name on youtube channel...

Personnally I bought multiple old youtube account, I changed everything (name, password, recovery mail ) and didn't get any problem, I change the cover, the logo of course .

I verified each account with a phone number
I think a verified account is very safe , i advise you to do the same thing

1)Did you buy an account or channel?
-If an account you can create multiple channels. Set up another health related channel right away

2)change the recovery email that you logged in with to become your mail email

3)for monetization- it depends on your method. if adsense yt changed its tos recently to 1000 subs 4k views. Not sure if you can change the name on the account to yours. But for adsense you can input your bank account and link it with another persons name. If something like aff link or cpa should just be able to put link in desciption or in video

Try it maybe it will get monetized but just with proxy or rdp

LOL another victim from thread " I made $xxxxxxxxx from youtube"

Just keep the account and let it idle.
