I can't give you the network name, because they have a thread here.
COD = cash on delivery
Basically, the user place an order on the website, right on that moment the network place your sale "on hold". The Call Center will call the customer and if he confirm the order, you will be credited.
I promoted a $40 product, my comission it was $13
I did not understood why I have so many canceled orders, untill I ran some ads on my native language and I really monetized the fb page inbox.
A lot of people were complained to me that the girl from the Call Center told them that only 1 product IS NOT DOING ANYTHING and they need to buy at least 5 ($150 worth). And I'm getting a ridiculous $13 for this...but obviously most of the people will just cancel the order when they hear they need to pay triple!

So....take the conclusion yourself :)

I encountered sorf of similar situation before, but it was for hotel booking, I booked through the reputed hotel booking website with 7% discount, but no initial payment is required, after I went to the hotel, and I paid with credit card, I asked the lady, am I entitled with the 7% credit card cash back rebate as mentioned on the booking website, she said yes, but after I left the place, I checked my credit card statement 2 weeks later and I realised I was charged the full 100% without any rebate. I believed they just bypassed the hotel booking website and charged on their own account only.

If they have a thread here then you should post the network name.
You never know the call centre girl might be trying to earn more commissions for herself by upselling.

Adcombo :) And the problem is they are trying to upsell before sell!
Because it's a difference between "congrats for your order, if you want, we can send you another with 50% discount" and "you ordered only 1 product which is not really doing anything, let me know if you want to order 4"

Hello publishers,

Let me comment on this.

All this upselling thing depends on the advertiser. I mean when our network agrees on collaboration with this or that advertiser, we are not provided with the sales call scripts. Advertisers and their call centres vary across different geos and offers. That is why the sales call scripts can vary across different regions. And phone call order confirmations is their responsibility, not our platform's.

Here is advertiser's perspective: Since if there is, for example, $40 for a product and the payout to publishers is $13 it is very hard for an advertiser to earn some money, as there are other expenses (manufacturing, shipping and etc). It is not uncommon that call centres try to upsell a little sometimes.

Some sales call scripts are very neutral and they do not enforce a user to buy more than one product. Some scripts may be way too aggressive.

What do we do in such cases: we always try to maintain an approval rate on a decent level - and if there are complaints about aggressive way of selling we leave no stone unturned to control the advertiser and its selling policy.

If you have encountered the situation when the advertiser verifies your leads too aggressively (tries to sell up to 5 packages of the product or doesn't agree to sell only one package of the product) - do not hesitate to contact your affiliate manager and inform him or her about the case. Tell him or her: what offer, what geo and etc. We will try to settle the query.

Thank you.

The problem is you should take more care of your publishers and clearly discuss the terms and conditions with the advertiser before approving them on the network.
Approving anyone and letting them do anything they want it's not gonna work. Remember that the publishers bring the money on the network, not the advertiser.
I was expecting that you will call that shitty advertiser and talk to him, then get back here and tell us the resolution. Instead of this, I only see explanations and formal things *bullshit*

Another problem is that we do not have any report regards the canceled orders.
I want to see who placed the order (name, email, phone nr) and why they canceled.
But here's 0 transparency

One point also should be highlighted:

Do not forget that you get your money on your account when a customer just says yes to the call centre's representative. So, a customer does not pay any money to the advertiser yet, whereas publisher immediately gets money just for a confirmation, and not for a complete sale. So, on the advertiser's side - they do carry the risk that a customer can cancel the order eventually anytime.

Or maybe he's getting the confirmation on the phone and then cancel our order, just to cover the "risk". As long as we have 0 transparency....

How could I do it, you didn't provide me with the offer name and the concrete geo. That's why right away I suggested you complaining about it to your affiliate manager directly.

I think the problem that @BigTroll has faced is that customers say yes but when they are pressured by the sales representative they are cancelling the order. The advertiser wins because he doesn't have to pay for the lead as the order is cancelled.

I just can add that in COD method all the phone calls are saved as audio files at the side of the advertiser. So, in case he's doing something suspicious, you can ask your manager for explanations and records of leads canceled.

Typical of CPA networks and its advertisers to milk as much profits as possible. Usually they pay you $1 and try to milk off $10 from the leads that you bring in. C'mon let us be frank, advertiser will not profit by paying you $1 and making only $0.10. This is why you have to use free traffics to generate the leads rather than paid ads. Use paid ads primary for your own products and never for CPA products. All CPA networks are scamming little bastard who tried to prey on people greed.

There are reputable networks who never accept shady advertisers. And the actual ones really respect the deal. And you get extra $$ for each upsell.
