Stay away from freelancer.com

I had the exact same thing happen to me... I called them up and bitched at them and they gave me a refund. What they did was pretty F-d up though.

This is crazy to read, I haven't used freelancer in a year or so but all of my prior projects through them have been successful and I have made a good deal of money due to those projects. Maybe things have changed but it seems like if you put work into structuring/managing your projects then there is minimal risk.

It is so easy to scam people on FL. I bid for a project .. I completed the project. got a good review and the next day the buyer disputed the project so My account went from $50 to -$60 with $10 being the fees. and now i have a negative mark on my account and i have delivered the project as well.

Aussie privacy authority determined privacy case against Freelancer in my favor: 20 grand in damages, written apology and more. (‘HW' and Freelancer International Pty Limited)

Freelancer filed an appeal.

The way I use Freelancer is:

post project > get bidders > PM those I am interested in and invite them to Skype

Some accept, some don't, but you are freed from awarding the project and racking up costs.

little story first

3 years ago getting a mobile and contract monthly , didn't take notice of bills as trust the phone company , one day go bank see a £9.99 a month payment coming out my bank , went home with hump thinking who scamming me , it was my phone company for around 7 months taking this £9.99 out for mobile assitance lol went back bank got a full refund apparently was enable on new contracts ...

so I started being more vigalent with my cash , started to monitor the paypal subscription part of paypal , be very careful I have noticed all sorts , I buy a coat had a sub setup stopped that , domain auto setup stopped them .

so easy to get scammed I even stopped old monthly debt coming out for years very small but added up big £900 on one .
