My journey started 4.5 years ago when I purchased a $99 'data entry' ebook off Cbank. Fuck me.

But it led me to BHW. From there my hat was Black and haven't had a 'real job' since.
I've 'done it all' you could say and had some really great months and incredible 24 hours.

Then panda kicked my ass. Took some time off. The last 5 months I've been doing
mobile application development with an emphasis on games. Purchased 10 source
ios codes and re-skinned and submitted to the app store.

They did ok, was able to make my money back by selling some of them and had a
couple that are getting sustainable downloads. Learned a Lot about the biz.

Over the past couple weeks I've been consumed with Unity 3D. Its very possible
to create high quality 'Demo' type games spending very little money then create
Kickstarter campaigns to raise funds to expand the title.

Great thing about Unity 3D is you can release titles to any platform. It's a very
complicated yet extremely fun development environment.

I'm documenting my experiences with app re-skins as well as working within Unity
3D at http://shockwavelabs.net.

This is not a typical BHW journal. I'm not trying to get to '$50 a day' in fact I don't care about making
money in the short run.

There are 2 main goals of this thread and journey.

#1: Pump out lots of quality content on my blog and get traffic. I would like to build a list
and sell something down the line. I am going the 'No SEO Route'. Just content, videos and forum posts to
drive traffic and google love.

#2: Document my Unity development and publishing of games. This is a huge undertaking so as I progress
in my knowledge and use of various scripts and assets this will be noted.

The big goals are: release quality demo games that can be used in kickstarter campaigns
and Steam Greenlight submission. Get backing while retaining full equity. Win big at creating an
awesome game or fail and try again.

Wow, now thats some motivation right there! At least you went into a completley different field, with the apps, than trying to deal with mean unfair google wiping people off the map.

What is the exact goal of this journey and how are you planning to keep us updated?

Original looking journey.

I definitely plan to invest into apps at some point. The market is only growing!

Best of luck :)

Another game developer in two days. Excited to know what you can do!
Perhaps when you make a demo into a full-fledged project, we can create together. Artwork and gaming music is my speciality ;)

Much better now. :) Keep us posted on how its going, I'm curious as I'm looking to invest in apps too in the coming future.

Best of luck with your journey! :)

Do you know of any popular forums, places with lots of free or paid resources for developing iOS and Android Apps? It's something I want to venture into :)

Good luck with your journey! I've already subbed to it :)

^ You could check out iphonesdk forum or reywenderlich.com. Both are ios based.

Unity allows you develop for both and is only platform that allows for this.

Been playing with Unity for a while -- some good videos at 3dbuzz.com

Apps is a huge market so you can be ambitious! Good luck

great ideea, i hope you will achieve it one day, best of luck to you.

I have made 2 new posts. They are about app localization and the 'No SEO Method'.

So sticking with the 1 post per day and working my way up to 30-60 before going the forum post marketing route and having to put more energy into building up subscription funnel.

Big setback with my Macbook breaking. Gonna recover the hard drive but for now I will just have the
PC. Its a little more difficult since I was in a pretty good groove using the mac for development and the PC
for watching tutorial vids.

The next set of posts should focus around my workflow for Unity 3D and cranking out a cool demo game
game ASAP. And reviews of the various source codes that are publicly available.

This guy is fired up. Good luck. I know some people who make good money with developing apps.

I can definitely accede with you that developing apps is a decent way to earn money. I've recently got into android development, and published an app a month ago. It was a simple app, there was a button in the middle of the screen, you press it, it makes a single sound. I've also added some apps using Startapp which adds banners. So I published it a month ago, that's my only app published so far and I've made $60-$70 so far from ad impressions. My app has currently 7000 installs which isn't a bad for an app that was released a month ago no only consist of a button that plays a single sound.

Made a couple more posts. And here is a Unity 3D game I made based off a 3dBuzz tutorial.
