Starting a new forum

Hi, i want to start a new forum. But i don't know how to start

People likes active/crowded forums. But my forum is new, so it's not active. How to attract peoples if your forum is new?

According to my views,it is definitely a big challenge to grow a forum especially when competing with an established forum. The big challenge is how to word out and how to stay visitor .

1. How to word out:

a) you can start your own blog to get initial visitors and convert them into forum readers.

b) You can start your with other forum and promote your own site on your signature.

How to Stay users:

Forums are almost impossible to make work, unless you are insane about a subject, and have a core of other insane people who want and will participate in that forum.

I've always had an interest in creating a new web forum myself, but I haven't been able to create one yet (I still need to complete a few other websites).
However, if I were going to create a forum right now, this is what I would do:

1. Study other forums. Find out what works for other people
2. Establish an attractive and attainable ranking factor. Just take a look at how BlackHatWorld ranks its members. It's attractive and attainable!
3. Create a team of "founding" members and use the forum to talk with them. Let's say you create a forum about how much you love furry wallets (sorry, I just named the first thing I saw on my desk) and you have 4 other friends who love furry wallets. Give your 4 friends a moderator status and use the forum to discuss about how much you love furry wallets. Only talk about furry wallets on that forum. Naturally, other people who love furry wallets will come to the website and see that it is active and before you know it, you'll have attracted a whole community of people who love furry wallets (just replace furry wallets with your website's category).
4. Target potential forum members. Do you know where potential forum members hang out on the web? Is there a Facebook group that is related to your forum? If you have an idea of where they could be at, post ads on those websites to attract them.

Yeah, it's a real pain in the arse to start a new forum... you have to hire somebody to create some activite at first and then hope that real people will join in... make sure you do proper analysis. I tried with a forum but I failed and it was a quite expensive mistake as I paid posters for a year.

At the starting you can hire a freelancer to create lot of high quality posts by using different accounts. Then you can run a campaign like first three highest number of poster will get prize. It may be $ or gadget or anything. Also create some backlinks on relevant forums and sites.
