Hey there

I wanted to start a small set up for streaming on Spotify + Apple (and maybe Amazon if the first 2 are successful), need some guidance and feedback from pros who have done music stream farming successfully, and need feedback if my method below could work.

Im a music artist, so am just trying to grow my streams and make a living.
I have 6-8 original songs currently (distributed by Tunecore) and planning to grow my music to 10,000 monthly listeners organically in the next 1 year, and then start my stream farm streaming these 6-8 songs.
Targetting to make $5000 a month, doing a physical stream farm in either the US or UK / Europe

When I start my physical stream farm in 1 year, Im thinking of setting up :
1. 200 Spotify accounts on family plan (will remove and change the email adds on the Spotify Premium Family plan every 15 days) - I can set up some to be free accounts so that its a bit more randomised

2. 200 Apple Music accounts on family plan (will remove and change the email adds on the Apple Premium Family plan every 15 days)
(Hence wont be using bots)

3. (35 Spotify Premium Family plan subscriptions + 35 Apple Music Family subscriptions) x 6 accounts per subscription = 420 accounts

4.15 sim cards on 15 phones that will hotspot the 20 laptops (this is so that I'd be doing this on 15 different IPs essentially)

5. 20 laptops - each laptop has 10 Google Chrome browsers open - 1 browser plays 1 Spotify & 1 Apple Music web player on very low volume, and will loop my 6-8 songs for 8 hours each time (will looping this long be ok? Is 6-8 songs enough?)
- I plan to play the songs mainly on my artist profile on repeat/on loop, so that it wont seem like I'm playing all my streams on 1 playlist for each account (let me know if I should randomise this to some accounts playing on my profile, some accounts playing on its own playlist)

6. After 8 hours, I'll switch up the 20 laptops to play different random songs/different playlists for 1-2 hours and then return back to my 6-8 songs, if that helps avoid detection? Do share if that helps? (Should I do this every 4 hours instead?)

7. I plan to reinvest half the money I make from this streaming farm ($2500 a month) into promoting my music organically - like through Instagram ads / Tiktok in the country Im in, so that it seems like Im getting organic streams as well in the country Im in - to avoid further detection

Target = 1,000,000 streams a month for 6-8 original songs on 1 real artist
(streaming numbers can be reduced if that helps to avoid detection)

Essentially it would be around 700 - 800 accounts a month (200 Spotify + 200 Apple Music & new accounts every 15 days = 800 a month) generating these 1,000,000 streams.
Would that ratio be doable? Especially if Im also promote my music organically to have real listeners - so I'd aim to have 10,000 monthly listeners organically

Would really like to hear advice from those who have done this successfully, if this method would work, and at which parts of this should I tweak (from number 1 to number 7)

And also, at what volume can this be doable manually without detection? (Meaning, this method only works to generate 100,000 a month for example, and hence I'd need to scale back) - Cause Im ok to earn less or if Im just breakeven, am mainly doing this to kickstart my career and earn a little to cover some living costs.

I have no real knowledge about proxies, using bots, - am trying to do this without bots if possible - but would be open to proxies / bots if its absolutely needed.

Do let me know your honest thoughts on if this method above could work
Looking to make a decent living as a music artist!

Thank you!

Recommendation:Instead of investing time, money, and effort into creating a stream farm, it would be more beneficial in the long run to invest in genuine promotional activities:

  1. Content Creation: Create engaging music videos, behind-the-scenes content, or even vlogs. Platforms like YouTube and TikTok can be great for exposure.
  2. Social Media Engagement: Actively engage with fans on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Hosting live sessions, Q&As, or even simple daily updates can create a personal connection with your audience.
  3. Collaborations: Collaborate with other independent artists to cross-promote and tap into each other's audience base.
  4. Live Performances: Virtual gigs, live streaming, or small local performances can help in gaining real, organic fans.
  5. Music Promotion Services: Some services can help promote your music to playlists or blogs, helping you gain organic streams and listeners.

You're right man. I should be focusing my energies there to be honest. And yeah, your msg has been a realisation moment too.

Its just that it would take time to build , and I kinda need to generate income real soon, within the next 3-6 months.
So was thinking of a streaming farm + also promoting myself through what you've mentioned above.
Plus streaming numbers do present more opportunities to artists - ie more collab opportunities, more bookings for live shows, etc

What do u do btw? Keen to know as you replied spot on regarding music marketing. Are you in the music industry?

Keen on the approach on Itunes - seems like theres a massive gap in the market there?

Thank you!

The way you describe it, it sounds like a pretty bad plan.

If you want PC streams, you only need one server and a good bot with good proxies. There's no point in distributing it across 20 laptops.

I don't have much experience with Apple Music, but I've heard you can get banned very quickly there.

The safest way is to generate streams using a phone farm, like I'm doing at the moment.
