I haven't posted here in a long time but I couldn't resist this one.
Normally I wouldn't give this much information away about what I'm doing, but now that I think of it, it's not that easy to replicate what I have designed with my JV partner
Splogging is sadly dying a slow and horrible death at the moment. The agressive "just throw 10 million pages at the serps and watch 10% stick" method seems to be at a dead end. The general technique of mass generated 'content' will never truly die out though.
SEOmadhatter, it seems you are on the right path and have a ton of knowledge. It's very rare to see sploggers here on bhw, at least ones that have fully automated systems. In my opinion splogging has been the best kept secret since the death of linkspam in 2013/2014. It's since back then that I have been ranking and earning with automated content.
First with Argos content, redbutton and WP plugins, later I moved on to the more serious tools
The good thing about splogging is unlimited traffic potential. The bad thing is that there are many pieces of the puzzle you need to solve to be able to fully scale up to a level where you are raking in the cash.
Just a brief overview of the many different chokepoints in a 10k domain splogging operation :
- bad content/scraping content
- bad keywords
- repetitive keywords / continuously finding, scraping and creating new long tail keywords
- bad templates / building and maintaining a system to scrape existing sites and parse the html to create templates for generating
- not spinning templates
- bad interlinking structure
- finding expired domains
- dealing with legal stuff from accidental brand expired domains
- dealing with legal stuff from accidental branded keywords and/or brands in your content files
- finding a way to get your sites indexed if not using expired domains
- building/maintaining/updating api's for all the registars to constantly be able to bulk-register hundreds of domains at once, using different whois or domain anonymity for each one. Api must also be able to bulk assign nameservers/ip's
-building email-server system for bulk-verifying ican domains
-build and maintain own database system that links everything together and keeps track of domains
-constant chore of checking for deindexes
-Finding ip's to put all your domains and servers to run and store everything on (current server costs are 3k/month alone).
You need to handle all this + 50 more things for truly blackhat automated splog system.
Our system has never been perfect, and it seems that for the last years we have been constantly losing an uphill battle. Splogging is only getting harder, at least in the hyper-agressive way we are doing it.
When it works, it's like a blackhat Lamborghini though, nothing even comes close =]
Just one small recent project
