Thought I'd give PPV a go, and my first 2 campaigns failed, one of them promoting free ipad cpa offer, and the other promoting a dating offer.

I spent $30 on the ipad campaign and $20 on the dating. The dating got no conversions, and the ipad got one.

I just direct linked to the offers without a landing page or whatever, do you think thats the problem? Should I have an email submit on my landing page so I can build up a list or is that not necessary?

PPC is not that easy. You got to have some money to waste before you start making ;)

BTW did you use Facebook or adwords?

PPV not PPC mate lol.

But yeah I am not bothered about losing the $100 i deposited, just wanted to try it out. I paused the two campaigns I had running before and started I different type just targeting certain urls.

I will try another PPV website when I have used up my $100 on directcpv.

Crap, my bad :)
Not good at these things so can't give you suggestion, man. But good luck and don't mind that stupid post. This is what happens when you stay awakened for three days without a break :p

Cheers.

I have been experimenting with ppv lately. (maxbounty+mediatraffic). In my opinion custom landers are necessary, direct linking didn't work for me.
$50 you spent is very little amount, you need to spend atleast few hundreds bucks, track your campaings and then you can get results. Good tracking is crucial for success in PPV.
Whether you build a list or not is up to you, I don't do that because I found out inboxing bulk emails is not as easy as it seems. You should focus on one thing.

Yeah I understand $50 isn't a lot. But its enough to see whether promoting a $2.25 offer is going to be successful or not. There would be no point in spending another couple of hundred because I'd just end up getting like 10 more leads at the most which is useless.

I have aweber so I'd be able to set up follow up messages, so it automatically sends out like an email a week promoting something.

If you don't direct link, and you don't collect email on your landing page then I don't see the point in that landing page if it just has a button for them to click to go the to offer page..?

OP,

These are my suggestions -

1. You tried a CPM/PPV campaign, change it to CPC. You should always test the profitability of your campaign using CPC, once you see success only then you move it to CPM.

2. Second mistake you did was direct linking, always use a good converting Landing Page, if you are doing CPA. There are several STRONG reasons for this.

Read them on this thread -

3. Third, you are doing a second page converting offer, since you are new to PPC, I would advise you to use the first page email submit offers. They convert much better and easily than second page offer.

Ok so what you're saying is move to PPC instead of PPV? I was mainly promoting the ipad first page email submit, but also tried the dating one as a test.

I am not sure what kind of landing page to do? Just a catchy title, images little bit of text and a button to go to the offer? Or a LP with loads of text?

I read your thread a while back, and I don't understand how you can get your ads accepted on Facebook to promote anything. I tried a few times and they all got rejected, and I cant get a random site accepted and then redirect it because the ad title and description would be unrelated..e.g Free iPad offer, how would I be able to get that accepted by Facebook?

Thanks for the help.

If you were sending the traffic to only one offer then it's not a surprise you were not successfull. You need to rotate many similar offers and landers and see whats converting.

I tried media Traffic, wasted $30 got very very few conversions.

Next I targeted specific niche and also I did a major makeover to my landing page. Spent another $40 and made about $30.

Overall till now spent out $80 making $40

ROI = -100% :D

I've tried that method once. I've got $3+ from $5 campaign. I think I'll get more if I can build more better landing page...

i dunno why direct linking is much of a problem...I do know it varies depending on the offer's page and niche...As a matter of fact, tomorrow I'm going to share my case study where I have direct linked to an offer...and I am also posting the results of it...I do understand direct linking is not always the best way and especially for email/zip submits...but with this one I absolutely crushed it and I believe if I have gone with a landing page I wouldn't be able to make atleast half of what i've done...

@OP Direct linking is quite a NO NO if you're doing PPV...use your own landing page...make it as dynamic as possible with neon colored borders/hot girls/countdown timers/image swipes...make is as flashy as possible to get the user's attention...look into jquery effects...trust me they'll take your conversions through the roof

@OP Infact, I'll share one of my case studies on PPV aswell... if you want...it might help

I need to keep an eye on this thread....I'm losing my ass lately on PPC. I got a few ads up and running, but I have been striking out a lot lately.

well, PPV can be very profitable if you think before you act :P.

Find other ways that work with PPV, not only CPA but CJ, CB...

Cheers

If you want to try PPV, you will need a good tracking platform. Some people use tracking202. However, I prefer CPVLab, which is built specifically for PPV.

Direct link or landing page?

It is all matter of testing, which by the way, it is really easy to do with CPVLab, as many combinations as you want.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!

beginners like us who wants to jump into the affiliates which one is best campaign to start on !! one says ppc is best other says ppv is best !!! lol and other says CPC is best !!

thats not neccesary mate , may be that is of not interest to people , i think you can try with other niches.

What is a payperLead? PPL?

Anyways, Im running my first PPL with direct linking. The traffic is decent so far but Im also trying to find out if the qualified leads are processed later and then reported. I will re-post here to let everyone know the conversion rates.

My email was a severe call-to-action. and the direct link to offer was a 2 click closer.

How long does it take (maxbounty+mediatraffic) to show your traffic and sales stats? Every 24hours?
