Looking for some advice. Is it a bad idea to use a + sign in meta titles - would search engines understand title that was "Brandname +" or should I stick to "Brandname Plus"? Thanks!

Its better to use "Brandname Plus" if you are trying to optimize for "Brandname Plus" instead of symbols.

Thanks $Bunny$! That's helpful. Any chance you can explain why? Is it because search engines have a tough time equating "+" to "plus"? Got to present to execs so would be good to give them an explanation if I can.

He is talking from keyword point of view, what people generally search in google. You are doing branding with +, people probably going to type plus so its best you use plus. Its little confusing. How you are presenting your brand name "Brand plus" or "Brand +"?

Thanks! Trying to build a case for why we should use "plus" over "+" before we build the brand out fully. This is really helpful! I've had a search and Google seems to understand that "+" means "plus" in titles, but if a competitor uses the text over the symbol they'll be likely to rank higher. Don't want that! Cheers for the advice :)
