29 days of constant spam and still ranking #1

One this is for sure.. Ahrefs sucks!. Majestic found 8 times the amount Ahref found. I would never pay for Ahref. Its a shame because I really like their UI.
 
OP, don't you think the keyword you are trageting has very low searches, you should at least try a 10k+ seaches keyword for this spam test.

I would agree on that... Very low search volume.. I guess with all the spamming your site would still the best in the top 10
 
Why arent you testing it on a KW with bigger search volume? I understand that its easier and cheaper to test it on a low volume KW but the results might be different. I made a few tests in the past and SERPs where google has to try harder to even fill them with relevant results behave really differently regarding all off page SEO effort - good on page might be all you need to do and even bad off page will not kick it out easily
 
Spam links work fine as long as you go about it right

Ive been through every animal update from Google and homey my site still ranks really well for its keywords.

Dont think you can just spam that shit like an idiot and it will work. You need to be somewhat smart about it. One hint is diversity.
 
yeah go for better term, propably for such low searches google doesnt care of links at all ;) at least thats what it seems here.

Well we have been spamming like a idiot and sent 800k + backlinks to our test site with ONE keyword.

haha and the SERPS are still the same no change.


What does this mean? Beats us, we never had this happen during a test before. We will continue to test and blast backlinks until it dumps. The real test and reason for this is our method to bring the site back to life.

Pretty bad when all you want is to get your site tanked and you cant do it! Or wait, is that a good thing? ;)

I'm starting to think google doesn't understand their own algorithms either, they just keep adding sh*t on top of sh*t.


It's too early to draw any real conclusions but is there anything different you notice about this site compared to others that you've tested on?

Not really. Other than the fact this one ranks #1 for the keyword PRE spam.

The others were 2-5 rankings


Maybe if you are #1 spam cant hurt you?
 
we are still at #1 which blows my mind. Im guessing it wont tank until google rolls out another update?

my thinking is that this type of links are devalued/ ignored by g. anyway nice you share your case study- i'd one with fresh or almost fresh domain
