SOS Youtube channel is dying

Hello, well my youtube channel used to get 50k views in a day per every video i upload.
Now in 2020/2021 im getting 1k to 3k views per week.
Although im old and i have 150k subs but the channel is dying i dont know why?
I see new channels on the same niche getting so luch views and subs in a short time and they even outrank me....
By the way im good at youtube seo i do everything and i post so much videos so to make the channel survive but with no results at all ....

Best advice I can give is to read @wengthemeng Youtube threads I have learnt a lot reading those threads. One more thing were you using copyright content do check that

You said you are good on youtube seo. Now a day there are huge peoples are getting die by pandemic.
Everybody is observing the viewers are getting loss.
I did lost 20,000 instagram followers also on a day.
So I think if you do SEO good than you will get good result.
I am trying to do good seo for my youtube channel but not getting result.

Youtube and Facebook are constantly decreasing organic reaches thus you have to pay for ads. I would recommend to go to TikTok and Instagram Reels. But of course it depends on your niche and what you post out

What's your clickthrough rate of your new videos? What niche is your channel? How many views are your new videos getting?

I still learning how to do this and that in the seo term (yes, youtube thing).

I've seen some people didn't use seo at all, just throw random stuff but in a high and nice niche. take a pet/animal niceh for example. just search 'cat' or 'dog' and you'll find it.

see, these people didn't use any single seo thingy and boom, there it goes thousand, millions views, like and comment, etc.

how could this happen ?

some of them, build a fanbase with twitter, instagram, discord (mostly gaming, anime channel), but the fact that the algorithm send you a recommendation is out of the world.

Now, here you are. the one with a good seo stuff and managed to get to the stage of complaining. yes, it's awkward to say that, but in my vision "this man is good at his thing, yet somehow he stuck somewhere on his own stuff..".

" what am I doing with my life, if the good one start to crumbling and I'm just in the beginning on my journey ?!"

I don't have a big channel, because I don't have any good content to share. thanksfully I found this site to learn more about seo (last night, for real).

But generally speaking, if you notice that newer channels are getting a lot more views than you, it just means that you need to produce more content.

You also have to take a look at the scripts that you are using and see how you can engage the viewer more.

You have to understand that making money off YouTube is constantly evolving.

As more and more people view it as a passive income source, you can bet that the competition will heat up.

And, sadly, older channels that tend to do things the old way—or produce thumbnails that don’t quite fit what everybody else is doing—will get left behind.

What’s happening to you isn’t really all that surprising.

What’s important is that you are aware of the problem, and you need to ask yourself some hard questions as to how you can come up with a new strategy that will make your channel competitive again.

The good news is assuming that your 150,000 subscribers are real people, you have a tremendous asset.

Work that asset when you execute your new video production and content quality plan.

101% agree with all of these.
my friends start youtube, 1 video per week. I tho he's doing good because new channel and each of his vid got 100-200+ views, 40+ likes, 50-70 comments. found out he's doing sub4sub reaching 350+ subs.

I step in, "ok, stop. now it's time to use the knowledge. I'm not come here to help you with my knowledge about internet and you do that behind me."

2 weeks ago, I start implementing some gems I found in BHW to his channel. one week, no sub4sub, new videos got 100+ views, like and comments. "ok, I wanna see how it's going after one month, let's keep it like that."

why one month ? because we'll see some differences between each videos in analytics. what's good and bad, which stuff we can change or keep it, etc. yesterday night, we're recording a "reply comments vid", because he always end up sit on his chair after work in the night, wasting his time replying those comments. the idea is, you like replying comments, so time to step up the game with a trick. it's for his own good, when he can do this, another plan is waiting for him to do. then, I said
"no upload tonight before we finishing our thumbnail and titles, period."

the story behind this:
- I wanna see if sub4sub still in effect on his channel
- which one the real subscriber that watch his content
- do these subscriber like what he is doing
- a new way to communicating with subs (hope this will make them stay in the channel)
- can we attract new viewer ? or get new subscriber by ourself ?
- some analytic value later after one month to fill my curiosity (hey, it's simbiotic mutualism I'm using his channel, to be honest he doesn't understand any of these sh*t above).

we're still in the beginning of the journey, we're just a villager in our 30s, with just phone to make a vids. but I see a potential in him. no script, but he challenge himself to be brave in front of camera. his sound like the sound if john mc. perkins from switchfoot (pitched villager version, lol). more important, he just being himself.

Well done. Congrats. May be the other competitive youtubers are stuffing your keywords.
You better change your keywords for every video. Make some #shorts.
Now a day Youtube #shorts are very much important for the channel seo.

how consistent are you? did you post videos daily ? if you unable post videos consistently youtube won't recommended and rank your video. copyright cases another major thing.

Do you have any proof to backup your claim? I don't think that's the case here.

you can call it sort of like a shadowban.
it happens very often across multiple niches on youtube.
your CTR,retention and all other stuff could be high but you will still have a drop in views.

best things you can do is.

1. return to channel after few months like 3, and revive it with trends.
it will revive and then switch back to old niche.
2. get new fresh 1k subs monetized channel and spam same videos.
( as yt gives priroity to newer channels. as in "a chance")



what people mainly need to understand is, yt gives more prefernce to HQ channels, gaming facecam channels,etc,
over time all normal spammy looking average or LQ channels will face these shadowban/deaths.

in my case as soon as i see shadowban on my spam channels, i just sell and replace them with new ones.
the new ones perform better.
over my time of experience, almost every single one of my channel faced these deaths, and i know it will keep happening, so i am already prepared and ready to replace them with new channels.
i spam easy kids content on youtube, so these deaths are expected.


also for youtube recommendations there is a global limit of recommendations that will be sent out daily.
as human population is limited.google users are limited ( around 2 billion), advertiser budgets are limited & not unlimited.

youtube has to fairly divide money to all creator channels from the limited advertiser budgets.
there are new channels poppng in everyday , trying to spam youtube for money.
youtube has secret mechanisms in place to limit this and people trying to scale with low effort methods.
its only possible to bypass those limits if you go stealth.

because of all these factors, not every single channel in this world can keep on getting recommendations forever.
youtube algo will eventually run out of new people to suggest for your channel.
when that happens your channel will die, views will drop, and they will give priority to new channels in your niche, or if a new channels perform better , they will steal your views and you will get lesser views.

but this is where the exception for getting high recommedations for a long time is still possible , for a few selected list of google's preferred partners.
google preferred partners will also get higher CPM due to premium advertising.

example : MrBeast.

he can open so many channels and pull of high views plus he will continue to get these stable views for a long time

It all depends on the quality of your videos
-The more professional and high production value, the better you'll come off to potential.
-Don't sound too stiff or like a robot though! That will end up sounding uninteresting for viewers who are scanning through video listings looking for something great to watch.
