Someone selling my Domain.

I dunno, IANAL - but if you keep records of emailing the guy, ebay, craigslist, stating that you are the owner and he's not - and have these dated prior to the completion of the auction - at least in case they pull any funny legal trick you'll have something to point to.

I wouldn't mind if someone sold a domain for me. That makes my life easier, but it definitely is strange.

BTW, OP how did you create your autoblog?

I use wp-o-matic and a yahoo pipe. I am a beginner for the most part. I'll post the response if I get one from the seller.

not to be a dick, but the domains will be worthless within a month or so. Its a whole hype thing. Get what you can out of them now while its still a hot topic otherwise you will be sitting there with domain(s) that are completely useless

Yeah, I am aware of that. I sent the guy an email basically asking him to make an offer if he wants it.

I would just leave it all alone regarding the ebay and cl listings until after the auction ends. Then immediately after the auction ends email the seller and tell him it just came to your attention that he was trying to sell a domain that you own.

At that time either tell him to C&D trying to sell your domain, or let him make you an offer. Whatever lowball offer he tries to make you, send back a counter offer of close to the full auction price. Give a little room for him to make a couple hundred bucks if you want, or if it's an aged ebay account with a lot of feedback then you could even make him an offer for a little more than the final auction price and see if he'll take a loss for his mistake.

The only thing you need to do right now though is make sure that everything is locked up tight with godaddy so the guy can't play some tricks and pull the domain out from under you. And then definitely put at least some static page related to your domain so it looks like you're planning to develop it. Even just a title and a few pics of the devastation would be good enough.

Unless you think you could auction it yourself for even more than what he's getting, or think you could make more money by just developing a website yourself on the domain. In which case send a c&d to him now so it doesn't get any bad auction history for the domain itself.

Good luck with it and hope everything works out well for you with it.

I currently have a wordpress auto-blog setup on the domain right now. Where is a good place to sell domains these days? Apparently, eBay isn't as great as it used to be.

I just got a reply back from the seller. He said he thought he bought the domain but he actually bought "japan earthquake of 2011" not "japan earthquake 2011".

I know I have control of it. It's a wordpress auto-blog with adsense.

Adsense?

Think outside of the box. So much pun potential ...

You could sell :

1. Horoshi's Sex Guide - Did you feel the earth move last night? NO! That was your honarable husband learning from Horoshi's Sex Guide. Go Richter 9 every night!

2. Hiro's Geiger Counters - Concerned about green glows on the horizon and energy companies lying to you about plant safety? Get your personal geiger counter today. Fast Delivery! (Delivery not guaranteed to natural disaster effected areas).

3. Big Wave Surfer. Surf's Up Dude! Learn to surf those big waves like a pro.

4. Brand new waterfront realesate investment - sure, it is inland now but get in while it is cheap ...

Yes, I am going to hell. I even picked out my nice red personal sofa the other day for when I arrive.

But at the same time, I am not the one cashing in on a natural disaster. So am I on the moral high ground here? Seriously .... don't we have better markets to get into than bottom feeding like this?

I am aware of the moral and ethical implications. I guess I am a horrible person. I guess I justify it (maybe wrongly) by saying that I am no different than a news organization. They make money off of ads and report on disasters. I am aggregating stories about a disaster and making money off the ad's.

maybe they are planning on filing for prior restraint, like, they have trademark rights to the domain?

Thanks for the info on the plug-ins. Any suggestions fr plug ins for advertising? I appreciate your help and hope that you can sell the domain for 25K thats a nice profit!

u mest contact him why he selling your domain cos he tell u exactly why he donig this?

How is this working for you? What kind of money are you making if you do not mind sharing?

Thanks in advance
