why would you copy 2 whole sentences in the first place?
 
Don't copy anything from anyone's site. Always use original content and use copyscape.com to check plagiarism.
It depends on what youre doing, ive some news autoblog type sites that rank (not well) with dup content. The posts dont get deindexed though, nor do i receive penalties. I am, however, citing the sources.

In general, google will not deindex website or a post for dup content. They will do it if someone is served DMCA.

Speaking of dup content, John Mueller said that they have a bunch of original source detection algorithms and they try to boost it accordingly in the search results.

Because those 2 sentences were related to the product I was reviewing. I never thought it might be a problem... In 2000 word article to notice 2 sentences it's crazy, I thought. But there it is. Lesson learned.
 
simply ditch G don't depend on it make diversified revenue.

That is eye-opening to me, although I would have guessed as much. I just didn't think they held that standpoint on an algorithmic level
