Some queries on domains...

Hey, I got a couple of queries on domains:

A) Suppose, I buy a brandable and a good .com domain today with a KW that has over 5000 searches a month. Can I put it on sale for at least a 3 or 4 figure and maybe an auction?

B) What is the BEST place to sell domains? SEDO or Flippa? And do I have to pay any money for listing my domain? Also is there any free site that I can put my domain on auction or sale?

C) On what factors does the cost of a domain is based on? Age, expiry letters, and TLD? Because like I said above, does it matter if the domain is 1 day old and expires within 1 year if the domain is highly brandable and the KW has over 5k searches a month?

Value. What my dad used to tell me, when the convertible automobile was not as popular as today. There's an (expletive) for every seat. Maybe not funny, but anything, no matter what you think it is worth, is what people are willing to pay. So list it somewhere like Ebay put a high start price, and see if it gets many hits. Or stick it on an auction site , Godaddy , Sedo, pay the money for the listing and see what happens. Godaddy should get alot of hits. I've run some on there. One domain I've had for a long time., that I really didn't want to sell I just listed a stupid price on it. I flea market hustle, and when we get stuff we don't know, what to ask, because it isn't stuff we usually sell, is just put a crazy price on. Godaddy I've been reading on some host review sites has bad reviews. I never had a problem with them, but just used the free website builder I got when I got my first domain name, back in the BBS era. Long time ago.

You're not going to have much luck selling a "brandable" domain with a potential KW. People won't pay for potential, too many domains available. If you manage to find a clean domain with some metrics (TF, DA etc) then it will be worth a bit. Most registrars let you list your domain for sale for free on their marketplaces. GoDaddy is probably the biggest.

Thats not true actually. People are willing to spend way more money for good keyword domains, than for domains with metrics. You always can get some links, but a good keyword domain is way harder to get.

What's TF?

So, what do people look at domains? And what makes them pay like $2k or $4k for a domain?

TF is "Trust flow" - metric invented by Majestic (seo tool) trying to determine how strong are the links to this domain and how well will rank. Anyway domains with good names and domains with SEO metrics are in entirely different category. I have never seen a domain to be sold for more than $8k because of the links, however deals in the range of millions of dollars are possible if you have 1 word English dictionary word domain. So there is that.

Take a look at GoDaddy auctions and filter for domains ending soon with high bids.

-> you can sell your domain through Godady as well. i have sold 3 domains from godaddy.

-> the thing is that, when you buy a brandable domain you also have to pay a lot. any brandable domain price is higher than normal rate

A) 5000 search is not really a high number.

B) "BEST" place does not exist. If you wish to get the most $$$$ out of it you should wait, just put your mail to the website. 2nd best option that will get you high $$$$ is to find people that might actually interested in buying it and mail or chat with them through facebook, twitter... 3rd option is to put it up for sale on godaddy and sedo with premium listings.

C) There are no factors, if the name is good it will sell for high $. Unlike people in BHW, normal people dont give a damn about age or backlinks of a domain name.

i have seen luck on ebay can try.

there loads of domain value websites so it might get cross refrence with your price


we no there not actuate but get used .

money must be in the name .

5k seaches a month not a lot, i got a domain doing x20 that and worth nothink only worth if the name needed via the buyer.
