Hi. A noob here.
If I had to have a program running at all times with my computer turned off, what would be the solution? A VPS or a virtual machine or something else?

VM can't run without your pc ON, you need VPS.

Are you tech savvy? Run it on a Raspberry Pi. You'll probably have fun in the process.

You need to have you're PC running in order to use a VPS. I advise you to buy a secondary computer from your local pawnshop. A Cheap one for maybe $100-$150 and have that pc running as long as you need.
