Solar Light Bulb The iLight :)

Wait.... no offence to anyone, but... are they living in slums?

There were similar projects in the past, providing cheap lighting = enabling children to read/do their homework

Cool idea

Note to Self: Purchase water bottles, bleach, and drill holes in roof to implement power-saving lighting. >___<

Pretty interesting though, heh.

Yes, they live in slum areas. However, there's a foundation whom are initiating this project. You might want to support.

anyone who has the time to make a check on it, if it is legit?

I would be happy to donate, just need the reinsurance, that i am not pouring cash into some organisations overhead, but really to those make it happening.

anyone care to explain what makes the bottle glow(is it just water?)

Nevertheless a simple yet great innovation which will provide light to millions of families

The water acts as a lens, bouncing the light 360 degrees.

Brilliant now watch the big elect. companies outlaw it.....

the guy is a pure genius, considering he has no educational/academical experiences. I've seen the documentary, and I live in the same country.

The water has a mixture of bleach/chlorine.

I feel you... that's what I hate about politics.

Interesting topic. But what is "bleach/chlorine"?
Is it the same as i have for my swimmingpool?
So, why doesn't my swimmingpool not light up ? :D

the bleach is to stop the water going mouldy/green, its like a skylight dont think it actually lights up at night

The bleach makes it "glow" and brighter, whiter...and keeps it clean :-)
