Software to track backlink progress?

Is there a software out there that will let you track the historical data of your backlinking efforts? I have a client who wants to know how many new backlinks he gets month to month.

I currently use SEO Spyglass to pull the backlinks reports which gives me the urls but not when the search engines picked them up. Any ideas?

mmmm I dont think there's something like that ... but I guess someone will eventually make an app for that purpose
