You will have to have have a targeted followers on tweeter and targeted facebook "friends" to your product so that when you will post ad for your product you can expect greater success in traffic and visitors turning into the customers, other wise you will have have use places like youtube and targeted forums to advertise your product. And if your product or service stands up to its promises then people will start to spreading the word across the internet.

SEO will play an important part in getting social media traffic as well. SEO can't be escaped.
exactly, you can't think of SEO like something you'd like to get away from. It's just a term for how to best calibrate your content down to the very characters you type in order to squeeze out as much efficiency as possible
