Pinterest is above all. It's omnipresent. I see it everywhere.

Social media > forums

What's the use of ranking forum posts if it's not owned by you?

I don't understand why failed social media managed to outrank other social media
Google is aggressively pushing people to use Pinterest because it needs images. Remember the time when Google promoted Wikipedia as if they love it. Then it scraped all the content from Wiki and used it in their knowledge panels. Now, wiki lost good amount of traffic as they don't need to visit the site for such details. Now, same thing is happening with Pinterest too. They'll scrape all the images and make it fail again.

social media will also provide you better branding and reputation.

Social sites posts are easy to rank but high quality forums are also good as well. :)
First priority should be Social sites.

And what if someone own a social site and a forum then which one is easy to rank? Like lets suppose i own social media site and a forum and i made one one post on both then which will get ranked easily

In terms of SEO, forums, I believe, still have a slight edge.

But given how forum content has continued to slide in ranking over the past few years, I really can't be sure how long it will keep its edge.

You have to understand that “social media posts” is a blanket term.

There are platforms that you can call “social media” that can rank your content better.

In fact, a lot of SEOs use these platforms as “parasites”—I’m talking about Reddit and Quora.

Until recently, Medium.com was a great choice until they made some key changes.

Sadly, given forums' SEO trends recently, I don’t really have much reason to be optimistic of it getting back its old SEO “clout,” so to speak.

If I were you, I’d stick to finding the right social media platforms.

Use SEO tools like Semrush to really get to the bottom of how you can use such platforms as parasites for your content.

A lot of these social media platforms have a tremendous amount of domain authority.
