Here is a little tip for people who sell websites to local businesses, etc.
I've found this to be quite succesful, and I can almost guarantee it has increased my sales.
What I do is, before I approach a business owner in person, I call the business, ask to speak to the owner, ask them about thier products or services they offer and pretend to be pretty interested, ask them if they have a website that I can check out before I make my decision. If they say no, I act a bit uninterested and find a way to end the call.
Rinse and repeat this the next week w/ a friend calling them (preferably female if your male or vice versa).
I then do my sales pitch in person, and always remind them of the sales they are losing w/out having a website.
Just a little tip that doesn't cost anything to do, plants the seed in the biz owners mind that they need a site.
Hope it helps
