My understanding is that you pay $30 yearly for the card and that they take a fee each time you withdraw money from it or pay with it.

So my question is, why would I not choose to deposit to my local bank? Anyone have the maths? My only guess is that for low earning, the card would be better as wiring is expensive (?) but I don't know why I wouldn't transfer for higher amounts.

When did they start charging for the card ?

Well, I read it on their site, right?

Are you talking about the $30 fee or general fees when withdrawing? I'll try to find the info on their site.

Found something (couldn't find on their site though):

http://ayuda.workana.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1109522-costs-associated-with-payoneer-debit-card

SO why would I do that? It says they take up to 2% for international bank transfers. Why is the card popular then?

You don't have to order a card though, as far as I'm concerned. You can withdraw your Payoneer balance straight to your local bank. If you're freelancing, it's better to have both Payoneer and PayPal accounts.

because if you live in 3rd world countries you have to in order to join some im compaines and make them think you are from a specific country
after all they do not charge you if you dont add money to it
payoneer is a great cc to have.

Why is the card popular then?
For various reasons:
- what you already mentioned, when you don't earn much, a wire transfer can be unreasonably pricey, while getting the money to your Payoneer card costs $1-$2
- not everyone owns or be able to own a bank account, getting a not so legal Payoneer account is a helluva lot easier than having a bank account with fake details, stealth Payoneer accounts can be bought
- some companies restrict certain payment methods for certain countries, sometimes Payoneer is the only viable option (besides cheque)
- Payoneer provides you with a virtual US bank account, where you can receive payments from companies such as Amazon, which is otherwise not possible for international affiliates without a US bank account
- when you receive your first $100 to your card, you'll receive a $25 bonus, if you joined via the refer a friend program, the friend who referred you also gets $25
- getting paid via Payonner is fast, certainly faster than an international wire transfer, which can take quite a few business days, with Payoneer you can get your money in a few hours for a $5 fee or in 2 days at most for the usual $1-$2 fee (depending on partner)
- send money to other Payoneer account holders without any fees
- tax evasion, no need to explain this one i guess
- and of course you have all the advantages what you have, if you own a Mastercard

I have never paid the yearly fee, there are some partners, which have a deal with Payoneer, and you don't have to pay that, Fiverr is one of those.

In some cases, it's better to pay the yearly fee rather than to pay taxes. + not all the payment methods are available in all countries, so you could be using Payoneer if, for example, Paypal isn't available for you

Depends on where you're from.
if you're form 3rd world country, I highly suggest so especially when you're going to do online business.
Paypal sometimes having so much problem with the payment and stuff.
Using payoneer is beneficial.
$30 for the card is absolutely worth it.
not to mention, it's fully legal whitehat.

Payonner is Good option if you live outside the USA, And you receive payment from USA Company that allowed Direct Deposit
Also you can connect it to paypal and you can verify it with.

If you live in Europe just use Transferwise. They also provide US details. Also have mastercard which is completely free, no fee per year. Lower fees for withdrawal than Payoneer. 200GBP(in any currency) free withdrawals as well each month.

I have a Payoneer card but never used it I heard it has great rates

Its useful every where not only in the so called 3rd world as some says. Especially for those who don't want to receive a wire transfer for many reasons.
