Damn, I feel left out now. Seems llike ADHD/ADD is something IMers need :(

Anywhere I can get ADHD?

Add/Adhd is a serious condition, its both a mental and a physical condition. Its not a condition that is created by a marketer just to sell a product. Many people who have this desease will struggle in one way or another. Its well known that many small time criminals gets this desease. People who gets it are borned with it, its not a desease that developes. People who has it sometimes typically invent their own words that makes sense to them, but are non existant to the world. People who has it can be very creative and sometimes good at creating new methods.

It is said that companies that don't hire people with ADD/ADHD should rethink that strategy because these people can be worth a fortune because of their creative fantasy world ideas.

People who take their condition seriously and wants to get rid of it get a professional opinion and in many cases its suggested that people go on medicin. It is said that people who goes on medicin will see a miracle change in many cases, the ability to think and focus better must be worth it alone. People will also cope better with boring tasks that exist in their lifes.

I have ADD I don't take medicin so I can't really say how that works only what I have been told. I know one thing that can help you because it has helped me, hard exercise like running or bike riding, fittness etc. do that for minimum 30 minutes a day and do it as early as you can.

Optimal: When you wake up and before anything else, coffee, shower, work etc
1 hour is even better ofcause.

Any time of the day is better than not at all always!

Their is nothing to be embarresed about its just the way it is and people are different anyway, so having people around with these symptoms or the desease itself can't be so bad.

Cheers

I do personally, I took a lot of my life under control just using organizational tactics, and that worked for a while and solved everything but the actual attention. For that adderall didn't work so I'm on something a little stronger and kept having to up the dose till around 50mg

Essentially the elephant tranquillizers of the ADHD world :P I find im the same when on them, except less side thoughts - although sometimes great stuff comes from those side thoughts.

I however think many people who are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD are just annoying children whose parents had no fucking clue how to raise them. I think that is ultimately what gives those of us with ADHD a bad name.

An over acting brain is like a champion stallion, it's amazing once you can control it but breaking it is a bitch.

Right here, love my adderall :p :ballchain Although on the adderall, I have to take a med vacation once and awhile or I go all charlie sheen... 4 years on it..

Don't forget to check this Southpark episode on the issue :D

A definite MUST on ADD :) (you 'll die laughing :D)

Here 's an excerpt from Wikipedia

This is a fine summary of why I think this is a let's-grab-more-money-by-making-policies-and-selling-drugs marketing hype. :)

I love southpark but I find it hilarious that people take what they say on the show seriously. Matt and Trey are just out to have fun and make some cash. Even if Matt and Trey did say it was fake(which they didn't) it wouldn't matter, they aren't doctors.

It's true that quite a few doctors are quick to hand out meds for ADD. I'm sure quite a few people get the meds that really don't need them. But the fact is there's proof it exist besides the typical signs.

radiologydaily com/daily/diagnostic-imaging/brain-scans-explore-adhd-bipolar-disorder/

Both disorders showed dysfunction in the prefrontal cortex, especially ADHD.

I don't see how anyone can say it's fake. Just look at people like Tom Green, I knew that guy had it before reading about it. I've known plenty of people that just can't get their shit together at all without their ADD meds.

Back from a young age I used to build massi... LOOK squirrel!

Yea, according to the symptoms, I have ADHD. Too bad ADHD is a farce. ADHD symptoms seem eerily similar to getting bored. Who would of thought people get fidgety and short tempered when forced to do shit they dont want to do (schoolwork, simple job). We'd better give them amphetamines! You guys are all fucking up your ability to actually work, and just becoming dependent on amphetamines to get anything done...

"But my doctor said so!"

This thread really got me thinking...
ADD would explain a lot of things but i never really thought i could have it.

i feel you, i go on a cycle and i have to take the weekends off sometimes, just to rest my eyes haha..
o and hands raised for sure...

I do too. I can live with it but what really sucks is that I'm barely able to focus on something. Even a fucking fly is enough to distract me :(

I think I have ADHD

Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another ✔
Have difficulty maintaining focus on one task ✔
Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable ✔
Have difficulty focusing attention on organizing and completing a task or learning something new or trouble completing or turning in homework assignments, often losing things (e.g., pencils, toys, assignments) needed to complete tasks or activities ✔
Not seem to listen when spoken to ✔
Daydream, become easily confused, and move slowly ✔
Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others ✔
Struggle to follow instructions. ✔

I have the opposite problem, OCD.
I forget to eat for most of the day often, at least a few times each week.

Me too. But i am a bit better now after doing meditation for the past few months. And having ADHD is not all that bad. You get some + sides too. Nice to see some fellow ADHDers.

Just a question how many of you like Games and Action movies?
I do. ( Out of Curiousity).

Weird. I also like doing meditation. Games? I play CS Online almost daily.
Action movie not too much.

Yeah I feel in love with games real early in life. It started with nintendo and magic the gathering. I am 27 now and still play tons of poker and Modern warfare3.

I don't take meds I mostly self medicate with coffee and pot :)

Without coffee I can't focus and do any work. :(

Dexedrine/Dextrostat?

Actually OCD isn't quite the opposite of ADHD and it's a fairly common comorbity condition for people with ADHD.

Maybe you shouldn't take that at face value and perhaps think more in terms of "you're gonna stand out no matter what, unless EVERYONE has ADHD"?
