I am a rather experience web designer. I just built a new website that captures leads. The keyword competition is high but 99% of the websites are weak and my website is totally optimized on-page. I know for a fact that these websites don't change much and beyond and initial SEO push, I don't think they do very much. It's an industry that takes a lot of money to succeed in so the number of competitors are low.

I don't know exactly how to start my SEO. I was thinking a little black-hat to get me ranked quickly and then a nice white-hat solution to keep me in good standing with the SEs. What I am seeing in BHW is that there are so many options that I really don't know what will be a good fit for me. At the moment, I want to stay under $100 a month until things pick up.

A quick summary: All my monitization is off page, I essentially sell the leads I get on my website. I don't sell any products, just a service. The number of competitors are low because it is an expensive industry to get into. Need help on how to quickly get my site ranked and how to keep it ranked. THANKS!

I think I can see the issue you're going to have.

Basic SEO always start by building links in directories. This will help you to rank slightly better, and generate some early revenue. Then, you must re-invest this cash in more advanced SEO techniques such as premium directories, link exchanging, PBN... Good luck.

Yep. SEO is too expensive to play it safe these days. Especially now that it takes a long time to rank. $100 is enough to buy 10 $5 articles and spend $50 on links in month one, and then $100 on links in months after that. Or you could write articles yourself. Best bet is to do local lead gen in high dollar value niches, then sell the leads and re-invest.
