So..I tried the google trends method..heres my results

Once again-- In order for this method to work your site must have some pages indexed with google. If you are having problems with that then contact member Mp3mage he has a service which can get you indexed within 24hrs. @ this why you had 0 searches. Your brand new blogger had 0 indexed pages so how can google know about you. With that being said. How many of you have actually went to google and submitted your link url. You know the old fashioned white hat way?? :)

Ok Money2spare my page is indexed know what? You need to rewrite article-- include all terms for related searches in your article. Since yesterday I have made 14 amazon sales from my blog. Which resulted in a crappy $40.36. But hey I didn't do anything but write articles.

Now getting back to the issue here. The next thing you must have installed is a good ping list. If your articles are not being pinged. Who knows your blog just updated with fresh content besides you and maybe your cat?

Good meta tags go along way as well. Its not difficult-- I cannot give up too many secrets-- which will lead to more competition, but this is the jist of it, and will be my last post on this topic. Mix in a few blackhat tactics and Boom-- Say Hello to Mr. Organic! Cheers!

Actually I managed to index my site within 10 hours. The problem is that it was indexed far far far far below the other news sites.

Also the ping list. I think WP pings pingomatic by default so I presume that my posts are pinged to many services (the ones supported by pingomatic).
:confused::confused:

I am doing it too..but to get visitors, you will need support. If you search the forum, there's an ebook about joining a forum and build points and in return you can use those points for your needs. Example of this is namepros. i joined the forum and get some points and use them to hire people to bookmark my newly published article...so the more people you get it to bookmark, the higher the possibility to get visitors...people on SBM sites will surely look into it especially when the bookmarked article already have decent amount of bookmark...it always worked for me..you can try that too if you want.

So..I downloaded an ebook about the google trends method from this forum...
It all seemed pretty easy...
I looked at a good upcoming search terms from google trends... "Corona fire and Yorba Linda fire" (this was 12 hours ago)
I found a good article about it.... rewrote it and setup a new blogspot blog with
the main keywords as the name of the blog...
I put some adsense as well...not properly set...I just wanted to guage the traffic coz this was my first try.
I setup the tags for the article using the main terms "corona fire" and "Yorba linda fire" and other related ones.

The guide then tells you to digg the article....I wrote an eyecatching headline and dugg the article...as well as 7 other social bookmarking services such as stumbleupon and delicious.

Now for the kicker!.... I recieved absoulutely no traffic!...NONE at all!

What did I do wrong?

Hi Davioli:

Okay...I downloaded the same Google Trend ebook and here what I do daily to bring in money and visitors:

1. Instead of using Blogger, I use WP. I monetize it accordingly and I get indexed FAST by:
a. DIGG
b. Yahoo Buzz
c. Propeller
d. Socialmarker
e. Autopinger.com

2. Now, how I make good money by using adsense, Amazon and/or a Clickbank product is by choosing a Google trend that has VERY LITTLE competition. This is crucial. Also, think out of the box.

For example, today, November 16th, one of the hot Google trends is Japanese vegetables. I would have my adsense at the top and bottom of my WordPress article and 2 related Clickbank products such as a weight loss product and a recipe product banner. One banner would be at the top before the Adesense and another banner in the sidebar. In addition, I would have an Amazon product such as vegetable steamer or related book.

I've noticed that WP does MUCH better thab blogger.

Well...I hope this helps you. I'm off to do another Google Trend blog.

I tried this out some months ago. Posted everyday for 2 weeks on blogger. Found adsense income was just too miserable so I gave up. I'll try on WP instead and see if it works.

natasha: Do you post all trends in the same blog? How much did you make from the Jap veggies trend post?

@Natasha : Now this is what I talking about :D... Thanks great info! So is your traffic organic?

natasha: Do you post all trends in the same blog? How much did you make from the Jap veggies trend post?

Hi Sridhar:

No...I create a different blog for a each Google trend.

Why?

Because you want the Google Trend as your main blog url such as http://japanesevegetablesloseweight.wordpress.com

Do you see how I used a hot Google Trend such as japanese vegetables and attached it to another hot industry such as "lose weight"?

YOU MUST THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX.

Another example are all of the California fires. This is a tragedy and I don't mean to be mean by making money off an unfortunate event, however, if wanted to grab a TON of traffic:

1. Create about 3 blogs on 3 different fires such as the brea fire, diamond fire and triangle complex fire. LINK these to each other for major Google juice and monetize them by featuring Amazon products such as fire extinquishers, fire alarms, fire proof safes or vaults, etc.

Or...

2. Find a Commission Junction or Linkshare insurance affiliate program that offers fire insurance or apartment rental insurance.

As stated earlier, use WP instead of blogger and watch your traffic explode!

natatasha32 welcome to the forum.

You've provided some very nice info as a newbie and it's appreciated.

Are you using subdomains with longtail or keywords and have one primary generic blog you're posting to?

I had an argument with the author of this ebook on BHW and said that i would give him twice the price of his ebook in return for downloading it (if i made money). But i am not so sure if this guy was giving all the info.

For instance i don't remember him mentioning organic traffic. In fact i'm pretty sure that he said that there was no point to that given trend terms are pretty "here today - gone tomorrow.

He seemed to be advocating taken the social networking route.

But now i look at what he said, i reckon he was only giving a skeleton of the true story. In fact i reckon that many ebook authors tend to tell "just enough" to get people interested to buy and when they don't make a bean they say............."well you can't have been applying everything correctly.

So not only do they get your money, but they reduce your confidence in the meantime. Sorry to be negative. That's why i don't buy before i try anymore.

Most ebook providers are just scammers.

Hi Wolfmanlv:

Sridhar is correct!

I just use the free wordpress.com and Google Trends and create a different free Wordpress blog for each Google trend that I decide to use. I do not use one main generic blog.

Another example is the Google trend phrase "how to eat cheap". Create a free WP blog such as howtoeatcheaprecipes.wordpress.com and add a Clickbank recipe ebook on your blog with all of this traffic that you will be receiving.

This blog can make you money for a long time because it is a term that people type into the search engines daily.

Thanks for a fast reply. I was sure of the same as you posted the wp.com example link however thought would be good to clarify.

I thought wp free hosting was for non profit and nothing commercial so for most part I've done nothing with it.

@Natasha.... awesome post... what you say combines both instant traffic(which is the whole point of the google trends method)... as well as possible future organic traffic.

I think now... the important part would be:
1)what trend word to select...(making sure it has future organic possibility)
2)How to monetize for maximum returns
3)Linking related words together...

Nice Natasha and Davioli, i really like what you say. I really think there is potential with this plan and hope everyone can keep this thread going to keep it live. Some of the other threads such as AC and Torrent underground have been going for a pretty long time and i also see headspin's thread about black hat programming is still going. If this is a great plan then the thread will go on for a long time. There is so much potential - when you connect with the market and trends is as good as any. i reckon you have to move fast though to connect the traffic with your monetised offering though.

best

Well i believe profecker, says its very important to have a good ping list. Something you seem to have missed.

Use Pingler.c0m

Also I tried this method, although I was not thrilled with the results I did receive a total of 64 unique visitors yesterday, as supposed to my regular 10-20.

I think it really depends on how you go about doing this, Ping after ever new article.

Also keep in mind I only have a total of 5 articles on my blog, so 64 hits in one day is not bad at all.

Whether this method works depends on how long the story will last. Maybe I will make an example one day to show you.

Firstly, social media traffic sucks. I have a wordpress plugin specifically not to show adsense to these people. The social media crowd if full of 18-24 Caucasians who are looking for the latest fart joke. The whole make money crowd is a fraud who profit from ripping people off with shoddy products.

I wonder how much of their traffic is from natural search results?

The money is in commerce and organic traffic.
Type the search phrase "how to make money online", click on the blogspot result, and start learning.

I didn't even buy this guide and I can tell you what to do.
1.) Register a blog on blogspot with the keyword in it.
2.) Get all the unique sources you can on this subject and print them out.
3.) Write a super article.
An example of this would be writing a 250 word article with every sentence rewritten 5 times (or 10 times depending on how many times you will submit it). Use manual synonym replacement and run it through a spinner.
4.)Submit to 50 or so article directories. Alternatively if you want to make it look more natural, take those 50 and do the following.

Have 20 linking back to your site pages directly.
Create 5 free blogs somewhere and post spun article. Have 6 spun articles linking back to the free blog article, which then has a link pointing to your site.

If you only expect the story to last a day, you are wasting your time in my opinion. If the story is going to last a couple weeks, then you will make good money.

I personally don't bother (as I can't predict which story will have longevity) and work on my long term blogs.

If it takes you around 4 hours to do this on a story that may bomb, how much would that 4 hours have made you on a long term site?

i wrote it in another thread already..the key is automatisation.

With GT i think the only reasonable method IS actually AdWords - to create AW campaigns for whatever KW and monetize the site with Adsense/Aff offers and similar.

Bookmarking you can do in addition...

We're dealing with very short lived trends here, keep in mind.

I think the key to the method is picking a monetizable trend, not just any trend. There are trend waves that bring surfers (no pun intended) and trend waves that bring buyers. For those browsing just for information, there are too many sites to compete with. For those looking to buy something, and looking for a place to buy it, there are a lot less choices for them and a lot less competition for you.

There might be a hot trend for Madonna's nice cans but I don't think the adsense on your new blog with links to Madonna and Child lawn ornaments or the ronco can opener is going to get many clicks. I'd rather pick a cooler trend but one that brings more buyers than surfers.

100% on the money. Understand your traffic first, and why they'd visit your page.
