As the title said, I bought an automated newspaper website. Basically, this website grows by itself, new articles being posted everyday without needed assistance. But, the thing is that I got it some weeks ago and it became quite a problem for me to see how can I bring traffic to it.

I posted this, because I assume that given the nature of the website, I cannot apply any whitehat seo tactics to it. The news are copied, even if the source is given at the end. So, I am aware that this website cannot rank based on content, unfortunately...

The thing is that the domain seems good and there are already some thousands of links indexed on Google, but the traffic? It is inexistent. I don't even see 1 visitor per day and almost 100 articles are posted daily.

So, what can I do to bring traffic to it? I even tried to share some news on some Facebook groups, but without success.

grow your social media pages, then you'll get traffic from sharing articles on them

Is it a WordPress site? What theme is aggregating the news?
 
If there's no traffic, then you should probably focus on traffic generation rather than the content on your site - since you already have thousands of articles, then it's perhaps time to focus more on the traffic.
You can start promoting it on social media, but you will also need to examine your articles, and see whether they are attractive enough or just another WP site?
Try having some controversial or viral type of header, and those usually help get things started moving for your site.

It does not matter your content it is duplicated, all the content from most of the newspapers is duplicated, you need backlinks to increase the ranks OR share your content in Reddit, it is a traffic monster.

In my experience auto blogging only works if you are targeting queries where they are willing to go deep into the results to find what they are after. Such as debugging a software problem etc. As with any content links will help.
