So by pure chance and luck, I discovered some products in my personal hobby niche are for sale on AliExpress. I was pretty shocked by this honestly. This is great for my personal funding of my hobby, but of course this got my wheels spinning.

As I browsed more and more I see GREAT margins, we’re talking 1000% markups here. However, the shipping times are all over the place. Some items arrive in less than 2 weeks (perfectly fine), and others arrive anywhere from 18 to 30 days (I can already feel the customer emails).

With everyone being so used to nearly instant shipping in the US, how can I deal with this issue without having to buy stock and ship myself? I’ve looked for US suppliers, but I can’t find anything close to the quality of items on AE. My niche is a bit odd in itself so finding any supplier at all in the US was difficult as well.

Try to find items with epacket shipping they will usually take around 10 days to the U.S. Many suppliers offer it, some charge a little more for it.

Other then that be as upfront with people as you can be without saying your dropshipping from China. Some won't order, those who do wont have a problem waiting.

Thanks Dave, quite a few products definitely offered ePacket and I’m totally cool with that kind of delivery time. The ones with longer times make me a bit nervous, but they are pretty sweet products too. I’ll be honest without screaming where it’s coming from lol. Thanks for the advice.

Edit:

Lol I thought the thread was by @MisterF when I saw it on the homepage on my phone

You’re the second person I’ve heard this from in like a week. I had the avatar first!!!! :P

I didn't even realize it wasn't @MisterF until after reading @DropshipDave's comment.

Then, I scrolled down to your response, and was like, oh, wait a second.

I'm too use to quickly glancing at the avatar.

Maybe I should change mine to a sailboat.

Trust me, a lot of people won't mind waiting 10 days to receive their items. Just make sure to write a catchy description and inform them that due to the order processing delay, they should wait a couple of days before you dispatch the order and ship it to them.

You can also offer some discounts (people will love it even if it was 10% OFF).

When you order your item on Aliexpress for your clients, you should an email containing Order Tracking ID as soon as you get it. I know you can automate it on Woocommerce, but dunno about Shopify.
