This infographic is bullshit.
I talked to my doctor about this once and he asked me "when you sit, do you sit still most of the time or do you move around a lot?" I answered him honestly and said, "I never really stop moving, I'm always shaking my legs, moving my arms, kneeling on the chair, stretching.... sometimes I even grab the dumbbells and workout in my chair".
Then he asked, "do you move around cause you're stressed out all the time?". And I said, "no I love my job... if anything I move cause it excites me".
Then this is what he said and I'll never forget it.
He said, "son, I happen to serve a lot of cops in this office because my brother has been an officer for 30 years. Some cops sit in their car all day some are on their feet walking all day". But then he went on to explain how most of the cops he's treated had extremely high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high everything. He also told me that *stress at the workplace* should be a much larger concern.
Then he went on to tell me how many cops and social workers he's seen who had heart attacks or strokes before they even reached 50.
So I'm pretty sure that a stressful job will kill you 100xs faster than sitting.
