I am in a competitve niche and i was ranking for many of my keywords except for the most competitve one, now my site is like no where to be found except for one obscure term and for that its in the 5th page! My site is still indexed by google, and will getting a link from yahoo dir help me come out of sandbox and is it worth paying $299 for a listing? mine is just a cpa site with a gateway so I am not selling anything. I have no clue what to do!

My site is couple of months old with around 400 bl in yahoo.

Seeking out real world solution from expert seo's, hope you people can help me

PM me with your url, I can look at it from another perspective...

what do you mean by another prespective?
anyways pming you the url

maybe im wrong, but ive heard yahoo is doing away with there directory??

domainnamenews has a article on it

If you dint do anything wrong i wouldnt worry, These are some of the pitfalls to getting (organic traffic) and having big brother G deciding how the results are served.

If you did something wrong, welcome to the world of a blackhatseo

url above had to be modified cuz of my status.

Don't spend the 299 for a link in Yahoo directory... that's a huge waste
If you are going to spend 300.00, hire an article writer and do some bum marketing

well its a pure white hat site, but the means of getting the bl has been lightly black hat ie the site gots its bl from xrumer

I've sent you my thoughts. Have you received it?

First off if you site is only 2 months old with only 400 backlinks why would it be ranked highly? When Google finds a new site it tends to rank the new content higher than it deserves at first while it figures out where to place it. A drop after the initial rankings is common and normal and nothing to do with being in a "sandbox" Any ranking you see in the first three months is smoke plain and simple and nothing to get excited about. Hell for the most part I never even check a new sites rankings until it is at least three months old for that reason.

What you are seeing now is your sites natural ranking. I seriously doubt it is any kind of sandbox or penalty it is just where Google has decided your site should rank. Now what you need to do is look at the sites on the first page and figure out how to outrank them.

You are right about new sites being placed high, but my site is nowhere to be found in the top 1000, I am pretty sure my site deserves to be in the top 1000, even my crappy web 2.0 blog posts created to get me bl is ranking but I am not

Dude, shoot me your email address in a PM, I know how you can get ranked. I'll send you a kick ass ebook for free that will get you going.

If the sites sandboxed then forget about it. 3 months wait and your backout. Google will do a dance for the first couple of months you had it indexed.

I had a similar problem a few months ago. Just keep adding links, quality ones. SB etc and your site will come out of the box stronger. my site is ranked 1 now. last thing to do is stop adding links. just steer clear of xrummer and scrapebox for the next few months IMO

thanks a lot for your suggestions biblo

thanks for all your suggestions, now i have started ranking again for a few keywords of mine but all of them are ranked very lowly no where close to where it were ranked previously

you should build links through a variety of platforms including article directories, forum profiles, blog commenting, social bookmarking, etc.
