Hey all, how's it going?

So this may be useful to someone out there...or it could be old news, but thought I'd still post just in case.

As some of you already know, I have been running an ecommerce store through woocommerce for a while now.

Anyways, for whatever reason, I found that some of my products and pages were not indexing.

I was not amused! Particularly after spending hours submitting pages, posts and products to google webmaster only for them to still not index weeks later.

Long story short, I have found that instead of submitting my sitemaps as a whole to google webmaster, I have had much more success by breaking the sitemap down into sections.

For example

instead of just submitting the sitemap like this > xxx.com/sitmaps_index.xml

I'll submit each section individually to google webmaster, like the example below:

xxx/post-sitemap.xml
xxx/page-sitemap.xml
xxx/product-sitemap.xml

Since doing this, I have found that my products, pages and posts index far quicker. Not sure why, but I'm pretty pleased about it. I am using this method with my woocommerce store, but I guess it can be done with any site whatever the subject matter

Ok, that's all for now folks! ;)

Umm so..

tl;dr; "Submit sitemap(s) to gwt" ?

Does it work with thin content (since you have an ecommerce site, I thought you would face it)?

How thin are we talking? If you have, lets say, 10 pages and posts combined then I think it's definitely worth a try.
