is it possable to sell a site thats been hit by the google update? the site made over £2,000
Is it possible to sell the site? Sure
Are you going to be paid for it based on what it made prior to the update? Absolutely not.
Whether you like it or not, what the site made before is almost completely irrelevant. Whilst there are buyers out there who have nothing against buying sites that have recently suffered a decrease in rankings, the site will (obviously) be valued based on its current earnings, rather than what it used to make before.
Paying for the site based on historical earnings would be like paying a full price for a car that has recently been involved in a massive crash and hasn't been fixed.
You need to restart that site earnings (or start with a new one)...
Real time earnings are relevant, sites that are hit be a penalty, are just that the value drops to the earnings per month NOW not the value before being de-ranked.
Anything can be sold! If you really wish to sell it, hurry up before the revenue it makes drops down due ot the de-rankings that are coming...
even few of my sites got hit by penguin and can't sell it now as no-one wants to buy it!
Some sites does have PR 1 also! but no traffic or ranking
Best of luck to OP
i am also a victim of googles new update
my sites got hit by it...now sites are not on google
about what update u are talking guys?was there a new one or the one that come about 1 month ago?
i am talking about penguin 1.0
Why would you ditch it!?!?!?!?
What you have in front of you right now is an SEO's wet dream - having a penalised site to work on and recover is one of the most valuable learning experiences you can go through.
Why on earth would you sell that goldmine of knowledge??

funny cock sucker
Selling a site you know has dropped in rankings and not telling a buyer about it is a lame way to do business.
@ OP - bryanon & steelballs are correct. Past earnings are of little/no value at this stage.
It is like if you want to sell crashed car at full price
Hi guys. Google hit my online shop very hard!! I got about 75 % fall of traffic!!
My online business is 7 years old. During that time we had rise and fall. But not like this time!
This time - is huge! Im very concern about my business.
So I would like to hear fresh ideas! What to do?
I guess it all depends on thhekind of business you wanna do, if you are not afraid to go the grey line sell it without too much details about the fall. If you wanna be an honestperson than mention it and see how the market responds i am sure there are buyers that are not affraid to build it back to good profitable rankings since that is the main thing they need to do to get it profitable again.
That's really a bad way to do business. If your mindset is lying/defrauding people then you're not going to get very far in life...
Sometimes people mistake "BLACKHAT" for a whole new meaning.
Besides he probably just posted that one word reply to increase post count.
I like the car analogy
The car has been totaled; now it's worth scrape price. Rebuild it and get it back to earning and you have something to sell. Trying to pass it off on Flippa quickly without divulging the defect is a bad idea. Even if you're successful in hoodwinking a sucker, expect a charge back or dispute shortly that you won't win. Then you've sold your website for its true value, nothing.
Just to mention the OP never said he wanted to sell it claiming past earnings to raise the value.
We do not know if that is the intention but I am sure we have some decent speculation.
What is your earnings nowadays ?
All your traffic were from search engines ?
