Site Disappeared for Main Keyword

My site has gone for my target keyword my main one only. It was 6/5 on the rankings but now has gone completely. What should I do?

It might just be a google dance, how long was the site ranking for and is the keyword competitive?

Fairly, it is an SEO related keyword. Ranked for about 3 months and a few sites have gone from top page.

Nope, no churn and burn has been used.

Sounds like some kind of penalty.

Did you build crappy links? Did your site go down for a while recently?

I've seen this happen before check again in a day or two and it should be back

Have you modified the on-page SEO of your website? Maybe something that would highly increase keyword optimization to overoptimization?

You cant determine without first giving it some more days. Also, check your backlinks, especially those that carry your main anchors, check if they are still live.

My custom tracking bot is showing a google update in progress just so you know. This is probably what is going on (more competitive keyword dropped hard, but hasn't gone to the other keywords yet).

Have you checked your ranking with other rank checkers? It's either a Google dance or a penalty. Check your WMT account for any messages and wait a few days before taking any action.

Sometimes ranking drops like this fix themselves with time.

Thats what i'm hoping haha! I had it happen before for the same keyword but I came back. I have not been deindexed for any other keyword. Just this one, and I am still ranking top 5 on mobile too so it is so weird.

I have this problem from last 3 days , i was in page 3 for 2 main keywords and 2 week ago i bought some high page rank links here ,

Now my main keywords are N/A .

Site is new and no any seo service on it .

your site is still new but give a boost with high pagerank link. no wonder if you lose ranking.

I agreed with ajpis, this has happened to my websites twice and both of them returned after a few days.

Leave it 1 week without doing anything different. If it's not back - a couple of days dancing happens regularly - , start to troubleshoot the problem. Check secondary pages to see whether it's a homepage only or sitewide penalty, check google webmaster tools for a manual action, double check your on-page seo, etc.. if nothing rings a bell look at the link profile as that's the cause of most penalties.
