Site Deindexed from google

I set up an expired domain last month, which has around 5,000 URLs. Initially, indexing was slow and reached up to 1,000 URLs, but now the site has been deindexed, and only 7 URLs are currently indexed when I check using the site: operator.


I recently discovered that the domain was previously hacked. I have now returned a 410 status code for the hacked URLs and removed them from Google Search Console.


Can anyone please guide me on how to get my site reindexed?

I think google updated something, this happened to many AI sites I was following (and one of mine) but I can't find any connections/reasons
 
I think AI content may have been detected, if everything is correct it doesn't make sense to remove so many URLs at the same time.
 
was it ai content? if it didn’t bring any real value and just repeated what google already had indexed, google will drop it from the index.

right now it feels like google is cleaning space on its ssd.

Did you get manual penalty/notification in GSC?

content is not ai generated
 
even if you use expired domain or a new one, and suddenly index 1K, 5K or 10K webpage, it can be considered as spam. better way is to drip-feed googlebot only 10-15 pages a day, slowly increase it upto 50 pages. else, whether or not AI content or manually written posts, google will initially index about 1K to 2K pages and then either drop further indexing, or may completely index all 5K pages and not rank them at all. And will only show 4 or 7 pages index when you use site operator in the search.

there are many threads here where users have asked same question. Even one of my spammy site has 4 to 7 page indexed after initially indexing 1000+ pages. today nothing ranks. so that domain is shadowbanned we can say and will never rank.

solution: wait for 2-3 months to check any positive outcome, or get a new domain name. just don't try to index 1K or 5K pages instantly. this will again shadowban your domain. drip feed it.

Since the domain was hacked, Google probably lost trust
Try submitting a fresh sitemap to help fix it
 
Your domain was likely deindexed due to its hacked history and trust issues. Returning 410s and removing bad URLs was the right move. Next: submit a reconsideration request if there’s a manual action, improve content quality, and build trust signals (backlinks, brand mentions). Indexing should gradually recover.
 
The reason could be thin content on the pages - even if it wasn’t generated using AI.
And of course, it could also be due to a website hack, which you yourself mentioned.
