Hi there!

I am thinking to create a single page website that will have a great deal of quality information about one particular topic. The site will have 10,000+ words and won't be looking spammy at all, though I'm thinking to add multiple affiliate links here and there that will still look pretty organic and shouldn't have a negative effect on the overall look and feel of the site.

I will use HTML and CSS to make sure it's loading fast.

My concern is that I've heard that single page site don't rank high enough on Google. So, I don't want to spend all the money and time on link submission and other things if it's not going to help with the overall Google ranking. I'm planning to send a lot of paid triffic to the site (at least in the beginning), but at some point it depend 100% on organic ttaffix.

So, please let me know if the single page website idea has legs or I shkuldnt waste time on it and focus on something more concentional.

Of course, a single page website is going to look a bit odd....Why don't you spread those 10000+ words across multiple pages, categorize the content and just make it easier for your audience to absorb all the info? I doubt someone is going to sit down and read 10k words all in one go?
 
I agree. Really bad idea. Might as well not have a website at all and just put out a .PDF with 10,000 words.

bad idea, first of all 10000 words will make page looking a bit odd. Second, the visitors won't read anything at all in most case because nobody likes to read that much and so not lot of people will check your links. Maybe visitors, may read about 200 words and since the page will be too long they will leave site soon without seeing your links. 1 page websites are not best options. Split that articles to 200 words,maybe 500, or 1000. more pages mean more options.
i don't know maybe i am wrong.
 
I agree with others that splitting the content onto multiple pages generally improves usability, conversions, and so on.

If you do decide to go with the 10k word website, and are concerned about how it look to search engines, you could throw a few other simple pages together (about, contact, etc.) and have the links to them be more discreet
