Single Father Raising a 2 Year Alone Needs Help

He's been begging you for 2 years and never thought to tell him about BHW?...

He has been begging for me to show him what I do. He was not asking where he can go to read about things he was not asking about. He also had a full time job and since hes a single dad he had zero time. This is why I never mentioned it.

Carl, You have not mentioned anything of his experience, if we had some insight we might be able to add more relevant info for you to digest.

But yes, several people have already offered you Golden Suggestions.

Here are mine, even though some are rehashed, IMO he does not have time to waste. I too was a single dad as a retail and foodservice manager for many years. I am since remarried and my son is now 16 and still with me so I understand what he is feeling.

1) Did he get terminated justly or not? If not he needs to apply for unemployment ASAP. As a manager I know the process well and if the company he was with did not do their part with action plans, performance appraisals etc.. he will likely get benefit. The process takes weeks though, be prepared.

2) Get him on BHW ASAP. There is a wealth of info here and daily someone is posting "____ Needed"

3) Content writing. While I am not a writer myself if I know the topic 1st hand I can put out a 500 word article in about 10 minutes. If not I may have to do some research so depending on his knowledge base he can make $10-$25 per hour writing. The average going rate is about $1 per 100 words. I am assuming he is a native English Speaker. (this post is 506 words and took me 12 minutes to post)

4) A new niche that has been all over this board lately is handmade web 2.0. It seems like good SEO is original SEO and now even tier 1 backlinks are going the route of less automation. If he can create a squidoo, wordpress, blogger site quickly with images and video there is work for him here.

5) Combine #3 and #4, we need writers and we need web 2.0 builders if he can do each, he can also do both and add some value. It might take him 30 minutes to create a good web 2.0 with images and video as well as a unique 500 word article but maybe that is worth $$$ to someone.

6)Manual link building, people are looking for others to post on blogs and forums to help them with their white hat links, if he can find relevant blogs with some PR and post in content comments he will have yet another niche for himself.

7) Google alerts manager- perhaps someone is looking to a person to manage a keyword for them? Every time a keyword appears in a conversation he goes and posts a link to the client site.

Those are just off the top of my head, building a site, ranking it, monetizing it takes time. That is something he does not have the luxury of right now with a 2 year old waiting for daddy to feed her.

The most important thing is to TAKE ACTION. Waiting days after already getting some good ideas is counterproductive to his situation.

He cannot post a service thread without going through the proper channels but he CAN reply to those looking for freelancers. Make sure he is aware so he does not get booted of BHW!

Good Luck!!!

Thank you this is some great information. I spoke with him and after going over all the help I received on this board with him he is asking if theres anything he can do with Twitter or Facebook. He told me that he has a real interest in learning how to advertiser and make money targeting social users. If it takes money I will lend it to him to start.

FB is not my forte so I am not sure how to help him. I told him to read around the boards. Any ideas?

I have a twitter account with 2600 followers if your interested. Free off course. Pm if you want it.

I've got one with close to 6,000. Let me know if he wants it.
Wow thank you so much. There is so many nice people here. He is going to smile when I show him the accounts. This will make his day.

Guys please check your messages. I sent you pms in regards to the twitter accounts. Thank you so much!

Hey guys, I know it's not a major breadwinner, but I've been posting pictures on Redgage. They pay $.60 per thousand views to start, but you can import pictures from Facebook or Flickr. I've posted about 100 pictures so far and have made about $.50 in a week. If you scale this up, it could feasibly bring three figures per month, which helps no matter who you are.

If it takes money I will lend it to him to start.

The easiest way to get cash is for him to set up a business writing content and accepting payments via paypal. He could start today and be banking tonight. Also, I am sure BHW members would give him plenty of work. I have some need for content and could get him started.

Also, if your seriously willing to lend him some cash, give him some advertising bucks and let him start promoting dating on pof? NeverBlue, C2M and plenty of others have some decent dating offers with solid payouts.

I have 5 adopted children and all of them have cancer and they require expensive medicine for it please help also my house was destroyed in a fire along with all my possesions

That ain't funny a bit.

While there can't be any evidence of the single father story, it's unlikely to be a fake, if that's what you mean.

I'm lucky that I'm not a single father, but I have unexpected twin babies and in these times it's really tough to make enough money for them now and for the future, I understand the situation when you lose your job.

Unfortunately I can't help, but has the OP thought of hiring him?

It's always tricky with parents, but in a desperate situation the business can be scaled up and expanded being able to rely on a trustworthy and motivated employee/partner, at least to get him started with a little cash...

I have my own SEO company with several clients both local and national (US). I have built this on my own and just recently joined BHW. I have no employees and do most of the work myself (use some fiverr gigs).

I would be more than happy to buy fiverr gigs from him if thats what he decides. I understand the importance of taking care of one's family and the struggles that most of us have in today's changing economy.

Feel free free to PM and will help anyway I can.

Thanks and Good Luck!!

very good method probably one of the best methods shared here.
He can also do yahoo answers and spam some wiki pages with his affiliate links. Doing it manually is tedious work and he must buy softwares with the first money he makes. I made my first money with yahoo answers answering manually to questions. The key is persistance and not giving a a fuck about bans.

I have to agree - for somebody starting out, with little or no cash this is a good way to get started. It can be a short-term and a long-term money maker.

Just my 2 cents.
