Simple SEO using Google Sniper tactics

Hi Keith thank for this thread.

I just setup my new blog as google sniper technique. I'm targeting a keyword that has 2400 searches per month with 9000 competitors. I thinking that if I could get 2000 visitors per month, 1% visitor click my ads, and $1 for every click, I will get $20 per month!! This is a nice start! I will get that only from google, not include backlink and other promotion.

@nufaman
Can you proove to me that you have better technique? if can not, just shut up your mouth and i'll kick your ass!

Everything need to start from small thing and will grow larger. You never can run if you dont know how to walk.

There reason you are ranking good for this keyword is that it sucks. Google adwords center results are exaggerated. You have to understand they are computing results from all their data centers world wide, and it is very unlikely you will rank in the top for all these datacenters, especially if the site is brand new.

I use multiple tools, but one that is very accurate is the Microsoft ad Center. It shows the results for MSN and Bing, but you can normally multiple these by about 10 for top ranking in Google on most of their datacenters.

Cute pickup lines from MSN shows about 458 a month. If you go x 10 that's 4580 for Google. You figure about 20% of people will click on your website = 916 a month and that is being very, very generous. If your website is crap than your conversion will be much lower than %1.

Like I said this is very generous. I rank on the 1 page of Google for many websites showing 40,000 to 200,000 searches a month and do not get much in traffic, or not near what I thought it would be.

If you did this with a crap load of sites it might be worth while, but I doubt it. Not to mention that I like tons of other people that know a little about SEO will put several sites up for keywords like this. We do this because with a few backlinks you will be on the first page of Google. We don't do this for the traffic, we do it to monitor logarithm changes in Google, so we can adjust other major sites before they fall.

So let's put it in prospective before tons of newbie's try this. I have a site that is on the first page of MSN and the keyword it is targeting gets 23,000 searches a month. That is around 766 a day. My site gets about 70 visitors, that is around 10%. This site is towards the bottom of the 1st page, so like I said if you at the top of the 1st page it should be around 20%. I get around 2000 to 2500 a month. This is good traffic, but it doesn't make enough for me to be cheerful. 2000 at %1 with a product selling for $20 is around $400 and that is if your product converts at %1, which doesn't always happen these days.

My point is do the math before you do this method thinking it is a big money maker.

Which tool are you referring to?
This one? - http://adlab.microsoft.com/Keyword-Forecast/Default.aspx
It doesn't allow keywords that more than 1 word.
May I know how you research the keyword "Cute pickup lines"?
Thanks.

Well, dunno if this post is dead or no, but here are my 2c to it:

1.) Yes, run away from Hostgator as far as you can!
I've used to be with them for many years, but they became so lousy and infiltrated that I quit last year and moved my sites. They are Constantly being hacked! Found couple of viruses, fake redirectors, uploaders on my sites (usually in some obscure folders, like images etc..)

2.) As for G00gle sniper: I have a hard time to find keywords (even with MNF) to be worthy to build a Sniper site alone by the method he promotes. I don't know where the heck he find 'worthy' (= aka Buying) keywords under 7,000 competitors and 3,000 searches.
Yes, there Are some words, but they are simply 'odd', or not monetizable

Hey Beav, very interesting post. Do you know if the Microsoft Ad Center works also for foreign languages searches?

As for G00gle sniper.............I don't know where the heck he find 'worthy' (= aka Buying) keywords under 7,000 competitors and 3,000 searches..................

Don't get too focussed on these numbers and let them paralyze you...

The method is more than these numbers.
It works even when there are 15,000 to 30,000 competitors.

Analyze the 1st 10 as these are your target.
When they're weak (and are in the 1st 10 from 30,000!!!) you can even beat them the WH-way.

Let alone when you throw in some BH techniques from here...

Thankyou XRay For your well thought out and timely response - It si good to see an intelligent response for a change and not a knee jerk reaction - My virus checker did not pick this up - the link in question is a cloaked link using samurai stealth cloaker from profitlance. Given whats been bought to light in this thread it looks prudent to change the cloaking method

Regards - and - thanks once again - Your wisdom is duly noted for further posts :)

@playboykizz - please do not copy posts - it just makes you look lazy to everyone elase - thanks - and you will do much better if you target min 5 - 7000 searches amonth = 5 - 7 sales - maybe - usually 50 % of that = 2 - 4 sales

It is this one.

https://adcenter.microsoft.com

This is where you would go to set up campaigns for microsoft adcenter. This is just like adwords, except for msn and bing. You have to create an account. I don't think it cost anything to create an account, but you might have to put a CC on your account to activate it. Once you create an account and login there is a navigation bar and one of the links says research. This is the tool I use. You can only research one keyword at a time but it is very accurate and a must when it comes to research. I use this tool along with google's and some private keyword search programs. To be truthful I always go off of msn's tool even if it doesn't agree with my others. The reason is because I have wasted time targeting keywords because of the other tools. So like I said if you are targeting a keyword, do a search here. This will tell you the msn, then multiply it by 10 and that will give you a pretty good idea of what kind of search volume you would see on 1st page of Google for all or most of their data centers. Then realize that you will get around 10% of this traffic if your site is at the bottom of the page and around 20% at the top of the 1st page. After you get this math, figure in that you will make around 1% sales. Meaning out of 100 people that visit 1 will buy. You might have higher conversions, but always figure this way and then if it is higher you will be happy. When the math is done, you can decide if this project is worth your time, server cost, domain cost, so on. If it is not, move on to another project and start doing the math. $400 bucks is not bad, but it takes quite a few of these to make a living. You also need to research competing sites for that keyword. Go here
https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com
if that link doesn't work put /mysites after it.
At the top of this page you can get an accurate look at how many backlinks the top sites for the keyword you are looking at have in yahoo. This will be pretty close to what they have in msn, and google. From there decide if it is worth targeting this keyword. Meaning, if they have 10,000 backlinks then it will take a long time to get on the first page of google. That's fine if you want to spend the next year working hard, but if not, then move on to the another keyword.

I also forgot to mention. When you use google's keyword tool you need to understand that it is also coming up with numbers from all ways the search phrase is used. Meaning if you search "weight loss diet" It will give you results from "weight loss diet" "diet weight loss" "weight diet loss" "loss diet weight" and so on. This is why it is important to use another tool, especially one seperate from google when checking keywords. Alot of private keyword software out there grab there results from google's keyword tool giving you the same or similiar results. So you think that "weight loss diet" is getting around 100,000 searches a month when in fact it is "diet weight loss" that is getting around this amount.

I really have no idea.

Got ya and understand. Sorry bout posting big in your thread, not trying to hijack.

I don't get why you guys were giving Keith6andco a hard time re: the niche he selected for this case study. He was simply showing us the effectiveness of Google Sniper as an SEO method and IMO he proved his point.

@keith6andco: thanks again for posting/sharing your results with the sniper method. I appreciate it.

@xray - you are welcome and thankyou

@beav3336 - thankyou for your valuable input - I will remember to practise this in future - and - thanks - no prob about big posts - no one owns them and they are here to benefit all who read and all who wish to learn - thanks once again

regards

see your PM - more than likely you are correct to assume this as fact (just my humble opinion)

yup i see it works :), i'm so excited i think i need to use this stuff right now :D :D and are most your posts in this thread lol ? :P

Well, I started doing it. And yes, the overall 'structure' Works!

I have bought a Domain name which Is the Keyword, and that appeared in the Google SERP in the middle of the First page (!sic!) in just couple of days for that keyword Without me doing any special promotion except couple of RSS submits and Bookmarkings and of course some Internal optimization.

Which makes me actually sick thinking how 'little' is sometimes needed to be on the first page of Google - yet I still haven't seen the dough... ;-)
