Silly Youtube Question About When to Post Video

Hey BHW,

This question is silly but it has been dwelling on my mind the last few days and some insight from some more experienced youtubers would be very helpful.

I've created a comprehensive guide that is targeted towards 2018. For example "The best dog training tips of 2018".

I've spent so much time on this video and want to give it the best chance to succeed. I'll be done with it in a week and am wondering if I should just go ahead and post it or wait until the new year?

My thought process is, perhaps Youtube will rank the video higher if it is actually posted in 2018, and not 2017. And maybe users will see it as more relevant and updated if I wait. However, I hate waiting around for silly things like this so your thoughts are most appreciated.

You could rank it before 2018 hits, completely up to yourself.

Post it immediately.. People like seeing a video has some views already!!

Post it right now mate, it will rank fast for those keywords since no one else is competing for them and it will have a better chance of keeping the ranking when people will start searching for 2018 stuff.
