Hi, i have a youtube music channel sharing chilling and ambient music
from little and unknown artists. My goal is to promote their music in my channel.

I currently have 787 subs and i'm pretty happy with it since i could grow it myself
without any need of bots or fake views.

I am nearly 1k subs and i don't know if i should
apply for a partnership to monetize my channel or not.
I also thought about a patreon link in description and people could donate
if they wanted to, although i don't know what to offer them back..

All of the music i share in my channel i credit
the artists, their social media and where people
can find their music, i asked a few artists if i could use
their music in my channel and i would credit them, and they said it was fine.
But it kinda feels wrong you getting money from someone else
work.

In future i wanted to create a little website or google form where
artists could send their music and i would share them on my channel
with all their credits they sent to me, they would be on my video
description.

what do you guys think? Should i monetize my channel?

I don't want to hurt my channel reputation and avoid any
copyright or copystrike so i'm asking for your opinion
thank you :)

Hi, i think you should not monetize it because all credit goes the respective artists and yes it kinda type of not respecting them by monetizing their content. They are my opinions. But you can decide what you want to do.

Your channel wont be approved over youtube partnership maybe you can get partnerships from some MCNs.

you will get rejected. only way for these niche is to have an already enabled monetization account.

Like they said, you won't get approved. The way to do this is you reach the minimum first i.e. 4,000 hours viewed and 1k subscribers. Then after a few days, delete your videos and try legit ones.. then when you have some views on your legit ones, apply for monetization.

Yeah i also think this way, but i also see some channels promoting music
and putting ads on their videos

what do you mean with legit?

just apply when you reach the subs and views limit. If you have permissions or license from these artists to post their songs, then youtube should approve your monetization. Youtube would need to know that music or copyrighted materials you re posting is licensed to you to post and if you can prove that to them, I do not think they will reject you.
