Should I get back into SEO?

Hi, I've been out of the SEO game for a few years now.

I want to hop back in as I really enjoyed it back in the day. I see posts claiming that SEO is dead, this and that.

But I would like a response to as if it is still worth getting into and freelancing for it.

I don't care about the money, I would just like to know with these new Google updates, SEO is still worth it for local-based companies.
still worthy bro the market still have good potentail so far .

I would say that SEO continues to be highly relevant in 2024. SEO is important for any successful digital marketing strategy. As you can see that technology and user behaviour continue to evolve as time goes by. Hence, every business should adapt and stay ahead of the curve to leverage the full potential of SEO and drive meaningful results. The advancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning has enabled search engines to comprehend user intentions much better and this will only deliver more relevant results.

If you have some edge like real business, you're welcome. Even a pizzeria that is small will benefit from local SEO.

Otherwise, for affiliate stuff do social media. Much, much easier on nerves. You wouldn't believe. Even your mother can sell on Facebook. On Google? Forget it. :D

Imagine someone ranking a store to sell one pair of shoes that is used. It's this level of thinking. Ranking which is huge effort just to sell a stupid single pieces.

SEO is much more advanced than scripted videos and things like photos on Instagram. I'm not joking.

Prioritize your well being, not imaginative gains from serps. :) Start from self analysis and then see what you do realistically do.

If you feel fear, it's a signal to not go that way. Emotions are still valid as they used to be 100 years ago. You just need to write down and describe what you feel in your private notes.
So should I steer in the direction of local SEO then for small businesses that thrive on local customers?

It's great to hear about your renewed interest in SEO, and I completely understand your concerns given the frequent discussions around the topic. Let me assure you, SEO is very much alive and continues to be a crucial part of digital marketing strategies, especially for local businesses.

Despite the dramatic proclamations that "SEO is dead" which crop up every time Google rolls out a new update, the reality is quite different. These updates often aim to refine the search experience, emphasizing quality content, and user-focused optimization. What has changed significantly is the approach and techniques.

For local businesses, SEO remains highly beneficial. Google's increasing focus on local search in recent years with features like Google My Business, local packs, and Maps highlights the importance of local SEO. This ensures that businesses appear prominently when users search for services or products in their locality.

Getting into freelance SEO for local businesses can be very rewarding. Many small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) rely heavily on local search traffic but may not have the expertise to optimize their online presence effectively. This opens a wide door for skilled SEO practitioners to make a tangible difference.

My friend SEO i snot dead and will never be, the google algo changes from time to time. But yes big corps are behind google because they are all in the WEF lobby circle. Elite people (often Chabad Khazar, Askhenazi like Klaus Schwab) what do you expect from these people? That they make your life and making money more easier? Really? Wake up dude! In a lobby circle they help together, which means google helps first, always first, their "friends" (WEF members) big media sites and whatnot. Not you, not us the normal people!

Wake up, and always have a plan B in your mind!

Happy Monday!

It's still worth getting into and making a lot of money with it.

Yep the serp landscape shift nowadays, you see reddit, quora, linkedin, youtube videos all over the first spots in google page 1.
But I see another shift here do you see it?

I type in a question and long questions in google here about get deeper expertise facts about social media , like ctr rates, how many people click on my cta in my posts, some stats facts, numbers (personal profiloe) or in my group? What I get? The serps are full with over and over nearly the same content trash yadda yadda....like; write daily, write high quality, define your niche, all that blablabla but not hard fact or statistical average numbers ,nope, nada , zilch.

Make me creepy, the serp landscape nor looks the same for me something like everything is uniform as in conmmonism everything is the same, do you feel the same way ? Strange! Or do I have a crazy blurred mind now?

Ask gemini about twitter marketing with dm messages (twitter allows 500 messages a day) gemini warns you that this is high risk and spam, no matter how legal you make it, gemini warns you not doing this. AI is probably our enemy?

Happy Sunday !

I don't care about the money, I would just like to know with these new Google updates, SEO is still worth it for local-based companies.

Here’s why SEO is still alive and kicking (especially locally):

✅

People are constantly searching things like “plumber near me” or “best dentist in [city].” Google’s algorithm updates have only made these kinds of local results more prominent. That’s a huge opportunity if you know how to optimize for local packs, Google Business Profiles, and on-page geo-targeting.

✅

Most local businesses don’t have the time or skill to keep up with SEO — and many still don’t even have optimized websites. They’re still relying on word of mouth or old-school marketing. That’s where someone like you can offer real value.

✅

The people screaming “SEO is dead” were usually relying on shortcuts, spammy backlinks, or thin content. What’s working now is more strategic and human-focused:

  • Helpful, localized content
  • Real EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust)
  • Fast, mobile-friendly websites
  • Proper technical setup
  • Legit reviews and community presence

✅

As a freelancer, you can niche down into specific local industries (e.g. realtors, roofers, law firms) and build processes around them — from local keyword research to citations to content calendars. Plus, you don’t need to chase enterprise clients if you enjoy the hands-on work.

Final Thoughts

SEO isn’t dead. It’s just evolved. And if you’re passionate about it, especially from a value-driven or community-focused perspective, there’s a ton of room to grow. Your past experience is still valuable — pair that with updated best practices, and you’re good to go.

Analyze the site structure of big sites (bloomberg, cnn....) then you will get the "Eureka" moment, you understand why the gain multiple serp listings. Do this with your wp site with a few category pages and good internal linking structure and you should be able to reach that goal too in the serps. Ask a few seo "gurus" via email none of them will can answer you how get mutliple serp listings the only asnwer they have is backlinks. Yes they are important too but are only one part of doing seo. So have that good site structure, your branding name in the site title and in your H1 title too (at the end of the phrase) and doing category pages with good internal linking and have a hub on your site.

But psssssss pssssss......... be quietly the enymy reads all the data on the web, from BHW too! When too many people capture this method and gaining more and better ranking, then big evil G will push out new updates and punishments, I bet, always have a plan B in your mind before any new updates coming out!

SEO is absolutely still worth it—especially for local businesses—because organic search visibility remains critical for attracting nearby customers, despite evolving Google updates.

SEO is definitely still worth it for local businesses—local intent and map visibility still drive strong results in 2025.
