Should I dropout school to IM ?

Do both until you can make it a consistent, full-time income.

I'm still paying for my mistakes for not taking my time in university seriously, losing both money and time.

Make sure to take it seriously, especially if you're paying for it with your own pocket otherwise it's a waste of time.

There's no reason you can't do both, and some things take time to develop rather than the amount of work you put into it. (ie. waiting for sites to rise in SERPs after backlinking campaigns, waiting for orders, etc.).

So yeah, you can quit but it's better to devote some of your time into a backup plan (university) rather than putting all your eggs in one basket in one time. You never know, one day you may find yourself making hundreds a day and thinking that nothing can wrong or you can simply reinvest if it doesn't work out, but its better to be safe than sorry.

I'm Vietnamese too. I think you should drop out once you start making at least 200 dollars a month from IM. The reason is because in Vietnam the average salary is around 200 dollars a month. I'm pretty sure you can make even more than that if you invest all your time in it. You can make thousands or a couple hundred a month. That is far better than your average job in Vietnam. Once you have a steady income you can decide whether you want to drop out or if you already have (go back to school).
 
I'm in the same situation as you. What's my decision? I won't drop out. I'm riding the university experience to get the intangible life lessons you wont be able to learn elsewhere such as personal budgeting, face to face communication skills and meeting new people.

At the end of the day, universities are just businesses wanting your money though.
 
depends on how much you are making! Are you making enough to support yourself for the next 5 years even if your income stops in a month or so? If so, you can drop out and work on your business.. if not, stay in school.
 
No No No, the Vietnamese society is all about diplomas and certificates. You almost always need a degree or diploma to work in Vietnam. Even now you think you can make money with IM, but what if later something goes wrong and you still have to find a normal job?
Don't throw away your opportunities. Even though you may think you don't need a university degree now, you may regret later!
 
Don't quit school. If anything happened Ur im business your degree will back you up. I don't understand why you guys are advising him to quit school. Education is very important. Finish this degree and don't work on programming. I finished engineering in computer science just now and trust me don't quit school.
 
For marketing, leaving study is no way a better option.
Its marketing, who knows if you can catch up with market trend.
Dont end your possibility to just IM. Get your degree and keep the option.
Its always good to keep your option wide open.
As for now take your study and IM together!
Buddy, wateva these ppl say, but neva leave study. Once u leave study, almost not possible to continue again.
So think again n again b4 taking any step furthur.

Stay in school and use the resources there to IM better. Wish I had access to my old universities resources now!! Who knows you might also actually learn something while you are there.
 
Do both in most cases there is a large learning curve to get the hang of IM to make some real money where you can live off of. You may even finish school and only be making so much money from IM. Most of my income is residual from my sites since I sell products and I am not mainly focused on seo. Also having knowledge in Programming more specifically will help you tons with IM. Get to know windows and linux like your life depends on it. I know the command line like the back of my hand from windows to ubuntu, centos, debian, python, etc. I may not know how to write code from scratch but
Ill fox with any code out there to make my stuff work better. I even started learning about failovers clusters with mysql. Im even gonna start going back to school. Once you get to the point when you get sick of mass messaging, cpa leads, comment posting, etc. you are gonna want to do something bigger and knowing how computers work and developing something that is your own will be the next logical step. You will look back and say wtf i should of stayed in school for that education to give me a jumpstart in IM

Yes, you right, but I think programing is not my forte and my Math subjects is not good.

IM does not get easier if you don't have to study, esp. when it is IT. There are generally 2 ways to make money online "legally": by earning people's trust or by tricking machines to bring whatever you are offering to people's attention. How could a university hinder you success in either of these methods? I don't think it can.

On a side note, a college degree will give you a big boost should you ever decide to emigrate one day.

Lastly, I don't know the mentality in your country but pretty much anywhere I've been a person with a degree automatically has certain advantages. Not saying they are always warranted but it is a psychological reality.

I know IM is not easier but I can waste my time to it and I can understand what it is. For programing, I don't understand, one hour with programing make me headache

I think my decision is dropout, I will reserve my study to IM, if someday I think I need Uni degree I will back

I agree with you, but you happier than me because you are in US. In VN, where theory education is most important with Uni. In my school, first 2 years focus on theory education and have some called IT education like Excel, Word. How do you think about it ? 2 years, but i really i don't have things i need. I want dropout school with always theory only, practice is very small.

Keep going to school, If Im don't pan out you still have your degree, there is alot of people that would kill to go to school, but don't get a chance, take it for all its worth.
The door you close today, might be the one you need open in the furture:D
 
In my opinion, get a degree for a rainy day to cover your self :) if in case, you are not able to make good money from IM you still have a chance to get a decent job :)

I myself in school, studying and IMing ;)
 
I stayed in uni even though I was earning $150 a day on auto pilot. Yes it was painful but as soon as I got out of uni I was 100 percent sure IM was right for me.
